What a Cinderella story last season for the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers! Speaking of Ramblers, I have them leading the MVC in my rankings predictions! After a stunning 32 win season, Loyola will be returning 3 of their 5 double digit scorers from last year (Clayton Custer, Marques Townes, and Cameron Krutwig) and have a few decent recruits for bench depth. Following Loyola-Chicago in 2nd and 3rd place are two other “Illinois Teams” in Illinois State and Southern Illinois. The Redbirds and Salukis' will both have senior loaded teams this upcoming season, and both placed in the top 3 of the MVC last season as well, so they have some success under their belts. Coming in back are Bradley and Evansville. Each of these teams had pretty solid seasons last year, and despite both of these teams losing one 10+ PPG scorer, they have enough talent to finish in the top 5 of the MVC. Indiana State and Drake are taking up the 6th and 7th spots in my predictions. I expect a lot of struggles this season for the Sycamores and Bulldogs, as they have had a total of 5 key contributors, however, if a team like Evansville struggles, one of these teams could very well find themselves in the Top 4 or 5. Lastly, we have predicted that Valparaiso, Northern Iowa, and Missouri State will end the season anywhere in 8th, 9th or 10th place. There isn't too much that I find flashy about these teams except that Northern Iowa has a very talented 4 ⭐ recruit in AJ Green, but the losses of Bennett Koch, Klint Carlson, and Wyatt Lohaus could keep the Panthers in neutral this season.
NCAA Tournament: Loyola-Chicago
NIT: Illinois State
