We watched the Coppola film TWIXT a week or so ago. Wow! What a mess. It was suppose to be an experimental film that would be edited live, and different for every audience that saw it (that's what I read when I looked into it). Even though it's a mess, I still kind of loved it. Edgar Allan Poe! Vampires & Goths! Child Killing Holy Man! Bruce Dern! I drew the V character. #ellefanning#vampire#vampireart#belledeesfangclub#twixt
Yesterday I finished reading Slayer by Kiersten White.
This was a book I was really looking forward too. Reason for that was that this book is set in the Buffy universe. I mean Buffy! I grew up with that series (well technically I only started watching when the two last seasons were running on German TV as I was too young before that). For some reason my expectations for this book were really high which is never good. So... in the end I felt a bit dissapointed about it. I feel like it was well written but the story... it took forever to get really interesting (it felt like it anyway). I also had quite an issue with Nina and her Buffy hating spree. I get that she has good reasons to hate her but it was constantly brought up... which started to annoy me after a while. Yes, Buffy is closely linked to why her life turned out the way it is but *sigh*
The end of the book got better and I started to get Buffy vibes from those scenes. Sadly it wasn't enough to change my mind about the story or Nina.
In the end I gave this book a 2.5 star rating. I really wished to love this book but it didn't wanted to be 😭
