Yesterday was #earthday and I wanted to share one of the many thousands of Mango Trees I harvested last December in Cairns, Australia
This part of the World is one of the Best places for Fruits.
Now, what does a Mango tree has to do with Earth Day?
And more importantly, how does even benefits it?
Well... what do you think it would happen to this World if there were no more Fruit Trees?
The truth is that we already deforest more than 3/4 of the Amazon, and 91% of the reason we did that, is to grow more Cows in order to feed ourselves with their flesh.
And when you think about it (and you actually do the research), we would need 1.8 Planet EARTH to feed with an animal-based diet our 7.6 Billion people currently living here.
Yet, if we switch to a Fruit-based Diet (better said lifestyle), only by focusing on growing mangoes or bananas using Brazil, Tanzania, Mexico, Thailand and Ethiopia Lands, you can feed the ENTIRE WORLD! (Yes, that counts animals too)
And the Restauration of the CO2 and Oxygen balance would fix the Climate change, improving The air quality as well.
Trees also purify the Water we drink and use on a daily basis.
They host many animal families as shelter, and that's for humans as well!
They provide more Green Jobs, so unemployment would dramatically decrease by the need of TAKING CARE of this beautiful ever-growing green environment, which also promotes more health to be connected to Nature.
For all this reasons and many more, I believe that single and most powerful environmental action we can make on a daily basis, is to plant more Fruit Trees. ONE SEED IS THE BEGINNING OF A NEW FOREST.
