have any of you guys ever heard of seed cycling? as I’ve mentioned before, I’ve just recently went off the pill and with the help of my naturopath I’ve been trying to balance out my hormones. one thing she suggested was seed cycling, which is basically where you eat certain seeds depending on which stage of your cycle you’re in. you can do your own research, but essentially you have a tablespoon of ground flax and pumpkin seeds daily in the first two weeks, and sesame and sunflower during the last two. there are certain fats in each of the seeds and they supposedly help to support and regulate the production of estrogen and progesterone, reducing pms, and regulating your cycle. apparently it takes a few months to actually see any changes, and I’ve only just started so I’m not really sure how well it works, but I also feel like it doesn’t really hurt, ya know?
in all honestly, I was initially unsure how I was going to get my seeds in everyday, but then she suggested energy balls and I was like wow GENIUS. so I’ve made these little energy balls to have on hand to make sure I always get my daily dose of seeds. these ones are super basic, because it’s my first time making them and I wanted to keep it simple. they’re basically just ground up flax and pumpkin seed, a handful of dates, a dash of cinnamon and vanilla, and a little water to help with mixing
