crushed a booty & core workout today, but warmed up with these ab workouts because they target your core & your outer glutes due to the band in some of them!
yes, these workouts KILL and will have your abs on fire,
but LISTEN UP.
almost every single ab workout is close to being ineffective if you’re not breathing, squeezing, and engaging your core properly.
you can put 50% more effort in ab workouts by doing those things properly and get 200% more out of them.
I didn’t start seeing huge changes with my core UNTIL I began engaging my muscles as needed!
SQUEEZE AS YA BREATHE.
when you are contracting your muscle (for example, sitting up during a crunch), you want to breathe OUT & squeeze your core. then breathe in as you lay down, etc.
MIND MUSCLE CONNECT
THINK about where you are squeezing and where you should be feeling the movement. if you are doing an oblique workout, think about or even touch the area that you’re trying to target.
TAP YOUR SPINE
lol keep reading. pretend you are trying to “hit your spine with your belly button.” this will help your brain understand how to squeeze your core tight throughout a movement. •••
