One of the most difficult things about extended traveling is figuring out what to pack.
One thing in particular I struggled with was which shoes to bring.
When you travel, you obviously spend a ton of time walking. Especially when you travel long-term, since you tend to cut out extra expenses like car rentals and uber in order to stretch your dollar further.
When walking around, you need shoes that are comfortable, but you also need shoes that can match with lots of different clothes.
As a result, I've figured out that my preference is to grab sneakers that kind of fit the bill for everything. I buy sneakers that I can wear running, casually walking, and hiking....and that don't look ridiculous with whatever clothes I wear.
Asics have always been my favorite running shoe, so I grabbed a pair of running shoes with substantial tread to cover my hiking adventures (like this one at the #bluemountainsnationalpark). I got black shoes with white soles, because they look good with most outfits. They also don't get discolored as quickly since they're back. This shoe is sleeker and less chunky than other options, which also helps in matching with things like jeans and shorts.
Outside of professional or formal wear, these shoes go with almost everything. And they're super comfortable.
These are my favorite travel shoes so far- Asics (women's) gel Kayano 24.
Moral of the story: they're pricey but worth it. They have lasted me for a good long while and I still wear them all the time- these are great shoes if you're planning on hittin' that road!
