Happy Wallpaper Wednesday!
Reveal! Two weeks ago today, I shared this same angle of our ensuite bathroom. While I had chosen wallpaper for our downstairs bathroom and staircase, I couldn’t make up my mind for this room. That is until I stumbled on to this gorgeous @arthouse_ltd wallpaper. Think it was love at first sight!
After closely studying many pics, decided that the undertones, looked right for our room, took a gamble and ordered the 3 rolls we needed for our room. They arrived quickly and if you followed my stories, then you know I was smitten with them immediately!
Since that was the final project, we had holding up our wallpaper palooza, we could finally book a date! Last week both bathrooms were done, in a matter of hours. While I wasn’t thrilled with the “pros” job, perfectionist’s they were not. I’m happy it’s up, it would have taken me much longer to attempt it on my own. So I’m thankful it’s up!
While at first, I loved the newness, and freshness of the white walls, I was growing bored of the look.
Wanted something that would make a statement and grab our eyes. This Banana Palm paper definitely achieves that! My husband keeps saying how he feels like he’s at a hotel, every time he’s in the room. Hotel feel at home? Don’t think anyone would object to that!
Still on the to do list, is finding an overhead light fixture. Thinking something natural, that incorporates bamboo, or rattan. My eyes will be peeled for the perfect light. The burnished gold vintage vanity light duo, was a lucky ebay find. It was NOS, new old stock and cost just $4!! Many of our light fixtures are vintage, I like the look, and everything old is eventually new again!
We had nearly 3 years from signing for our home, until we got the keys. So I had plenty of time to search for, and collect pieces, for our home. It helped to break up the expenses, and it meant that we started out in our new place, on good footing. Knew there would be bigger ticket items to contend with during, and right after the move.
I’m a planner, can you tell? I also enjoy the challenge of the hunt, for the best piece, at the best price. Do you enjoy “the hunt” too?
Have a gold one!
