Let’s talk about music! I like to ask parents to queue up some music on their phones for photo sessions because music has the power to change the energy of a session. If a toddler is having a meltdown, hearing a favorite song can perk them right up. For fussy babies, a little bit of calming piano or classical music can provide a few moments of serenity. This little guy loves hip hop and happily ran around the field while his favorite songs played from his mom’s phone. .
It works for us grown ups too! As some of you might know, I started running last week using the Couch to 5k app, and today I added music into the mix. With the help of Gotan Project, Justin Timberlake, Bow Wow Wow, and some other (slightly embarrassing) pop music, my minutes per mile improved by a whopping three minutes. MUSIC! No matter where I am or what I’m doing, if I hear a song that I love it makes me want to move. I think there’s a little bit of this in all of us. .
