Every little village is where families grow up and where they get their reality shaped around their experience which can be just of that village. It’s so profound to come across the sea and go to locations in mountainous regions hours from any major city. And yet this is people’s reality, this is their paradigm it’s all they have ever know. And to pull out something like a drone to photograph their whole village from the air can almost be like seeing a spaceship or something, sine people so intrigued wanting to see the screen others completely terrified. And yet I just sit their filled with wonder at these amazing people. Someone I’m travelling with mentioned they were sitting their hot and sweating and a local grabbed a book and started fanning it to look after them and bring some refreshment. I just find that such a profound gesture. And such a stunning awakening to the reality that it doesn’t matter what you have or where you are from our number 1 need is love. They say love lifts us up where we belong, or all you need is love! Well I think it’s true, I have a fancy toy to take really cool video and photos and yet I’m surrounded by people that may struggle that day to feed their family. It’s always so confronting I think to be faced with how much we have as westerners and yet how impoverished we can be in other matters, in matters of honesty and vulnerability and matters of the heart, emotional honesty seeing others loving even at expense to yourself. It doesn’t matter where you are or who you are with right now or where they are from they can teach you something that could change your life.
