Big V Basketball results were mixed this weekend with two good wins for our Senior Women and Youth Men teams.

The Senior Women had a strong win against fellow finals aspirant Camberwell Dragons 77-60 on Pink Night.

It was πŸ’” for the Youth Women. After leading for most of the night they went down on the last shot of the game 48-50.

The Senior Men went down fighting in both games across the weekend, losing a tough match away to Knox Raiders 98-66 on Saturday, then coming up short against Waverley Falcons at home on Sunday 82-93.

The Youth Men set themselves for a big finals series with a tight comeback victory against Waverley Falcons 87-84.

3 wins and 2 Blue Carpet appearances = great weekend for the Devils!

Our Youth Women have shown great character to turn their season around. A strong away win on Sunday against the Sherbrooke Suns 74-54 was topped off by Taylah Lea (pictured) making the Big V Basketball Blue Carpet for her triple double!

Joining her on the Blue Carpet is our US import Alyssa Bennett after another strong home win by the Senior Women, this time against Chelsea Gulls 73-57.

Our Youth Men continued on their winning way with a strong home performance against Corio Bay Stingrays. The 84-66 victory has the team sitting comfortably in third on the ladder.

The only disappointment from the weekend was a heartbreaking loss for our Senior Men against Corio Bay 98-100 at home. πŸ˜ˆπŸ€ #WeAreWerribee

Save the dates for VJBL rep tryouts.

For session times and more information please head to Werribee Basketball's website - https://bit.ly/2lsX0gQ

This post is just to let everyone know the dates as early as possible. Registrations and other information will become available at a later date.
The WBA has decided to hold our tryouts earlier this year.

This approach provides our athletes and coaches with the best chance to create a positive team environment prior to the commencement of grading phase 1. This extra time together will greatly help the preperation of each team and allow them to perform at the best of their ability, ensuring they grade as high as possible.

It also provides our athletes a legitimate 2-week break before commencing pre-season. This benefits our players physical and mental prepareration for the season ahead.

On top of the on-court benefits for players and coaches, parents/guardians also get more time to organise logistics, including sourcing the required uniform and attire.

That feeling when the Devils win 4 of 5!
In a huge weekend of Big V Basketball, our senior Men had a much needed away win against Blackburn on Saturday 86-73, but then fell agonisingly short against ladder-leaders Ringwood on Sunday 112-116.

The senior girls continued their red-hot form on their road trip to Warrnambool, defeating the Mermaids 75-63.

Our youth girls broke their drought with a gutsy victory over Mornington Breakers 38-43 and our youth men chalked up another W, taking down Geelong Supercats 86-72.

Our youth women had a tough away loss to Frankston Blues 85-40

Our senior women had a strong victory against Warrandyte Venom at home 99-60. The team was led brilliantly by import Alyssa Bennett, who had 29 points and Blue Carpet honours.

Unfortunately our senior men weren't as successful, going down to Eltham Wildcats 106-79.

Our youth men continued their strong form, taking 2 wins from the weekend. The first against Bendigo Braves 84-49, then backing it up in Ballarat 56-87 against the Miners.

Youth women fell agonisingly short of a big away victory, going down to Western Port Steelers 54-52.

A topsy turvy weekend of results in @bigv_ball for our Werribee Devils.

Our State Champ Men had a terrific away win against the Hume City Broncos 103-90, but unfortunately couldn't back it up on Sunday against Knox Raiders, going down 75-71.

It was heartbreak for our D1W side, forcing Casey Cavaliers to overtime, but ultimately falling short 79-77.

Our Youth Men had a rough start to the weekend, going down away to Casey 104-60, but then snapped their 4-game losing streak at home, with a good win against Hume City 96-79.

Our Youth Women had a tough loss on Saturday to Casey Cavaliers 122-58.

A great weekend of @bigv_ball for the Werribee Devils, with our senior sides leading the way!

As you can see, it was a happy weekend for our Senior Women. After a strong home win against Hawthorn Magic 80-59 on Saturday night, they backed it up to defeat Whittlesea Pacers on the road 64-56 on Sunday.

Our Senior Men also recorded a strong away win, against Keilor Thunder 105-91. It was another dominant display by our US import Konor Kulas, who scored 42 points!

After a strong start to the season our Youth Men have hit a rough patch, losing their third straight game, this time against Camberwell Dragons 94-87.
And our Youth Women fought out a tough match against Whittlesea Pacers, eventually losing 73-66.

Mixed results for our Big V Werribee Devils teams during a big weekend of home games.

Our D1 Women posted a huge win against local rivals Geelong Supercats, 92 to 65, an impressive effort!

Another tough loss for our State Champ Men, going down to McKinnon 103 to 93.

A heartbreaker for the D2 Youth Women, falling short 60 to 56 against the Southern Peninsula Sharks.

And in the top-of-the-table clash against Sunbury Jets, our D1 Youth Men came up short 89 to 77 on Saturday night.

A tough weekend of @bigv_ball for our Devils sides this weekend.

Our State Champ Men lost two games by a total of just 5 points, going down to Hawthorn 84-87 and then Waverley 81-79.

In another nailbiter, our D1W just fell short against Chelsea Gulls 66-69.

Our ladder-leading Youth Men took Waverley Falcons to the limit, eventually going down 75-79 and our Youth Women had a tough day against Pakenham, losing 64-81.

With all four teams playing at home next weekend, let's hope we can turn it around!
