Try Out Tuesday:
As I’ve stated before, posting every day has forced me to be creative. When I first saw the @coverfx Power Play Foundation ($44 for 1.18 ounces at @sephora) as a sample offering from Sephora, I got very excited because I had been wanting to test it out! I knew that one packet wouldn’t provide full-face coverage, so I waited and saved up four (4) - which I thought would be more than enough. Unfortunately, I was wrong. It wasn’t. However, I think I was able to use enough of it to give a fairly good opinion of how it worked for me.
What it claims:
Long-wearing liquid foundation that provides sweat-proof, waterproof and transfer-proof full coverage
Blurring, modern-matte finish
Available in 40 shades
The sample packet came with three (3) different shade options and I went with the lightest, N30, and it was a pretty good match.
I didn’t have enough of the product to test the coverage. If I hadn’t known it was claiming to be full coverage, I would have assumed it was medium at best with the coverage I got from four (4) sample packets.
It dried quickly upon application, so I had to blend fast. That is common with matte foundations though, so it didn’t bother me much.
Photo 2 was eight (8) hours into wear. While I had gotten very slightly oily on my nose, it looked “modern-matte” everywhere else. Whatever that means.
Photo 3 was thirteen (13) hours into wear. Not much had changed since eight (8) hours in, except for a slight increase in oils on my nose. Those easily blotted out with my beauty sponge and it went back to looking modern-matte.
Since I didn’t have enough product to get the coverage I desired, I can’t tell if it’s just my skin peaking through because of the initial application or if it’s because it has worn off slightly on my nose and chin. Looking at the photos, I’m pretty sure it’s slight wear.
I’m really on the fence with this one. It has the potential to be great, so I think I’ll give it another try by getting a larger sample from Sephora in-store.
Have you tried this foundation? What did you think? Do I need to make it a priority to try it again?
