Q: How did I start losing the weight? In January of 2015 I was at my biggest and my parents didn’t know what to do. My gym teacher, who owns a gym, have students who were 13 + an free membership to the gym. It was an amazing opportunity, but I wasn’t on board. I would go to the gym and do a really light workout, then come home and eat loads of food. Obviously this wasn’t helping me. We looked into it and there was a class at the gym called Boot Camp. My mom and I decided to try it out. At first I was so sore and didn’t want to go the next class, but after going for about 3 weeks it became fun and easier. My mom couldn’t do it after that because it was too hard on her neck ( she had broken her neck due to cancer). So I was left to do it alone. But it ended up being fun still. It was a great community. I met one of my best friends through boot camp. She was awesome throughout my weight loss. She pushed me to do things I never thought were possible and that summer we did boot camp almost every day! I basically lived at her house, and of course she has very healthy food 😂 so I wasn’t binging. I also started eating gluten and dairy free. My mom bought this really healthy shake powder stuff that helps weight loss. Over that summer I had lost 20 lbs! I walked into school feeling like a model! Fast forward to the end of the year, I still felt confident but I had slowly started gaining the weight back. By 10th grade I was almost back up to my highest weight... I felt completely lost. That summer I worked out every single day and then even into the school year! 11th grade was the first school year that I was able to lose weight. I cut back on my calories and only ate healthy food. Sometimes I would splurge but over all I ate pretty good. And now I’ve continued that lifestyle and I’ve lost over 40 lbs! 🔥potrawka ziemniaczana z fasolką szparagową🔥

SKŁADNIKI:
-1,5 kg ziemniaków,
-3 cebule,
-2 papryki czerwone,
-0,5 kg żółtej fasolki szparagowej,
-5 ząbków czosnku,
-1/4 szklanki dobrej jakości oliwy z oliwek,
-zioła i przyprawy: pęczek zielonej pietruszki, czosnek niedźwiedzi, lubczyk, majeranek, papryka ostra, kurkuma, sól.

SPOSÓB PRZYGOTOWANIA:
Obieramy i myjemy cebule, ziemniaki, fasolkę i paprykę. Kroimy drobno cebule i układamy je na dnie brytfanki. Ziemniaki kroimy w „talarki” i rozkładamy równomiernie na warstwę cebuli.
1/4 szklanki zapełniamy oliwą, dodajemy: 4 kopiaste łyżeczki majeranku, 1-2 łyżeczki lubczyku, czosnku niedźwiedziego, nieco mniej soli, ostrej papryki i kurkumy. Uzupełniamy szklankę wodą, mieszamy, a następnie rozlewamy powstałą emulsję na cebulę i ziemniaki. Pod przykryciem dusimy przez ok. 10 minut.
W tzw. międzyczasie myjemy i obieramy fasolkę (kroimy na pół), paprykę (kroimy w większą kostkę), czosnek (przepuszczamy przez praskę).
Po upływie 10 minut dodajemy do duszących się warzyw fasolkę, po kolejnych 10 minutach paprykę i czosnek. Dusimy tak długo aż ziemniaki i fasolka osiągną oczekiwany stopień miękkości.

Why do I get up at 4:30am to workout?!?! Because that’s the only time I have to workout! Do I like getting up early? NO! Is it easy for me? DEFINITELY NOT! But that feeling when your done with your workout before you have even started your day is so rewarding!!! Early morning workouts arnt for everyone, if evenings work better for you then do it then, the key is to make it part of your daily routine! Have a plan and stick to it! I remember feeling so ashamed of my body. Bound to a life of hiding in fear of what rejection I would face if I stripped away the facade of perfection and showed the truth of what motherhood and weight loss had left me with. Loose skin, stretch marks... shame.
Until in a moment of triumph in my journey with self-love, I posted a photo showing it all.
I was sitting in my bedroom, wearing my @knixwear and took a photo in the mirror and shared my heart on social media.
What happened next was not rejection, but waves and waves of acceptance, connection, and community.
Better yet? Not soon after @knixwear reached out and said: "hey, we'd like you to model in our next shoot". Wait, what?
Here I was hiding my flaws away and there was this brand saying "hey, we think you're stunning as is, care to bare it all for the world?". So, in a bold and trusting move, I accepted, showed up and rocked it. Then watched as my photos began to be shared on the internet for everyone to see. People who didn't know me were going to see these incredibly vulnerable moments.
But these images that I imaged I'd feel shame about, instead made me feel strong, empowered, beautiful and like I said - fully and completely accepted.
You see, it was all in my head. I was existing with a fear-based mentality, terrified to show the side effects of my two proudest accomplishments: my CHILDREN, and the reclaiming of my HEALTH.
This @knixwear brand became family, and supported more than my tush and my tatas. They supported ME, supported others, and began to change the conversation around women's underwear and more importantly - their bodies. THIS is why they will truly forever have my heart (and all my future bra & underwear orders). ❤️

Last week was a STRUGGLE. I was super exhausted and unmotivated. I never missed a run. But I missed quite a few miles. It left me feeling defeated. I told my husband over and over again that I should just give up, running just isn’t my thing anymore. 🙄 So last night I decided to revamp my goals and start fresh. I started my new week by crushing a goal. By the end of 2018 I wanted to be able to run 5 miles in less than 45 minutes again. [not super fast I know, but faster than I used to be] I barely made it. But I made it 5 months early. Don’t let a bad week leave you feeling defeated and discouraged. Progress takes time. 💕✌🏻

💪Happy Monday Everyone!! I just knocked out a great #PWR Chest and Tricep workout (from @kelseywells in the @sweat app) and feel terrific despite getting less than 5 hours of sleep last night 😠and just coming off our summer vacation. After giving it a lot of thought I decided that I’m going to increase my resistance workouts to 6 days a week and follow PWR now, but still do everything at home so I’ll have to modify exercises every now and then . I love that it’s in the same app as #bbg so I can switch so easily !🙌. And I’m going to do LISS after every workout as usual but due to time will decrease that to 30 minutes . ,
Also as part of my “thinking “ process I realized that I had started spending too much time trying to get a post worthy photo for the gram and it was really cutting into my morning workout and #LISS schedule so you may not see something from me every single day for a little while. I’ll probably post on my stories a little more during my workout time or throughout the day. I’m also creating my own little spreadsheet to keep track of my water intake , meals , supplements , sleep , etc . and going to use a rating system for my body, hair, skin, energy and more... just to see if there’s a consistent correlation on good and bad days so I can zero in on how my body reacts to certain things . I’m not taking this too seriously but it’s something I’ve been considering doing temporarily and decided to get it started this morning Who knows how long I’ll be able to keep it up but if I find out anything interesting I’ll be sure to share ! One thing I can tell you is that I strongly believe that sitting at my desk all day in front of a computer 💻 does not help in this journey (I lost weight on vacation and ate and drank like a PIG 🐷 but was never sitting still either) so I may need to try to get up and move a little more at work. I’m so envious of people who get to stay active all day ! .
Anyway, time to get off this bike and start the second half of my day. Hope everyone has a magnificent Monday and gets this week off to a good start ! 😘💪🙌. And if not , there’s always tomorrow .😉❌⭕️💕

If you’re eating healthy but don’t know why you’re not losing weight... you have GOOOOT TO CHECK YOUR PORTION SIZES.

The first time you measure out an *actual* tbsp of peanut butter and realize you’ve probably been using 2-3.... you’ll prob cry a bit of salty tears into the peanut butter jar 😢
.
And if you don’t own a food scale, here’s an easy way to measure portion sizes for each meal using your hand 🤚🏼:
.
- use a palm-size portion of protein
- use a thumb-size portion of fats (yes this means only 10-12 almonds or 1 tbsp of nut butter... life isn’t fair sometimes I know I know)
- 1 cupped handful of veggies
- optional: (best for before/after workout) 1 closed fist of carbs
.
I love the hand measuring technique because it helps you stay accountable ANYWHERE — even at a restaurant, on vacation, at your grand mamas house, etc.

Try it — you’ll be shocked at what true portion sizes of things actually look like 😬🙌🏼🥜♥️
