What I’m going to say is a little controversial 🙈 but you shouldn’t be wasting your money on paying a PT with no end point in sight.
.
Let me explain....With my clients I always have a goal- whether it’s learning to lift, fat loss, getting stronger, helping them post natally.... And I ALWAYS tell them from the outset that if they haven’t got from me what they want to in 10 weeks then I’ve failed (no pressure) 😬. .
Yes I realise that I could just keep taking their money 💷 and they’d be none the wiser 🤔 and I’d have a lot more money coming in but that’s not why I started this job. I wanted to empower people 💪🏼and make them feel more confident in themselves. In ten weeks that’s ENTIRELY possible. I give them the TOOLS and the KNOWLEDGE and most importantly the WANT to then carry on without me. .

The fitness industry is MASSIVE and everywhere we turn we’re being sold something or someone- a new MUST EAT diet, a pill to get rid of fat (seriously 🤪), a vibrating band that will give us a 6 pack, a 4 week workout plan that will make us drop 2 dress sizes blah blah blah. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to know what to believe and what not to.

My advice would be.... 1️⃣ If you need to lose fat then a calorie deficit is ALL you need to worry about.
2️⃣ If you want to get stronger, learn to lift, or just improve your knowledge of exercises then pay a PT for a few handfuls of sessions.
3️⃣Join a class or get outside and workout with a friend. Walk everywhere and just have a bit of FUN 😃. This is key to adherence.
4️⃣IGNORE all the other rubbish you are being sold. Fitness is really quite simple so don’t let yourself be taken for a fool 🤪

You don’t go to the gym to look good. As months are passing by you quickly realize it’s something more. It’s putting yourself through pain over and over again and learning to cope with it. Learning to try to stay on your feet when weight you carry wants to bring you down. It’s dedication, it’s saying no to nights out, saying no to date nights, appreciating people who understand it. You go to gym to build character with sweat ,tears and iron. When you staring at the mirror you staring at your will to go forward. Understanding that anything you want requires sacrifice. Deadlifts tonight, form was a bit out in my first set tonight and ended up pinching my back a lil bit. Tonight sets were 3 sets 5 reps at 140kgs, this is the most reps iv ever done above 120, and I am very pleased with how it moved.

My brothers 21st birthday, standing next to my family. I haven't hated a family photo more. In fact I've never really liked full body photos. But when I see comparisons like this one it makes me wish I'd taken more.
In the left picture I was a size 14-16 and occasionally an 18. I ate crap food all the time, and don't do any kind of activity. I was miserable and uncomfortable in my own skin.
In the right, I'm far happier and funnily enough, far healthier (please look past the resting bitch face, it's for dramatic effect.) I havent reached my goal yet, but I am becoming more and more comfortable with myself, and trying to make choices that benefit me and my health and feed my brain as much as my belly.

Sitting at a size 10-12 and comfortably wearing tighter fitting clothes, I have another 10kgs I would like to lose before I am at my goal weight, and a whole lot of toning and body conditioning to get through as well.
It's not a sprint, it's a marathon and ya girl is only getting started. .

Leg day!!
Getting back into weights after baby is tough. You still have to be cautious as on the outside you might look fine, but the inside may still be healing. You can see from the expressions on my face that it hurts. However, Weight training has so many benefits, one is the continuous calorie burn that takes place when you leave the gym. So set yourself realistic goals so you have something to think about when the pain is real and work towards them one gym sesh at a time.

When sets of 6 at this weight moves this well (Straight after 6x6 squat at 80% of new 1RM) it bodes very well before the Inter-Regional next month. Going to start posting some more bits around core as I really REALLY struggle with this element. It's held up well as focussed on it alot in 2019.
