Part 4/4 - "..when it was made. To my amazement it was an Old Mouse Hole Anvil, made in London, England between the 1820’s to 1830’s. By restoring this piece, it lead me to self-teaching myself and watching YouTube videos on Blacksmithing.
Years ago, before my late paternal Grandmother had passed away, she shared with me about my Great-Grandfather being a Blacksmith, something I had always cherished to know. I also learned that his tools and forge were still in use among the family, honoring his memory. I hope one day I could acquire them and continue the legacy of working with them as many family members have before me. As a result of what began as a hobby had now began to transform into a small business, but what would I call it? I looked at my anvil and saw the condition it was in and the story it had to tell...I said it looked angry. So began the Angry Anvil Forge.
The creation of ideas I had in my head began to come to life in my hands. I began by taking railroad spikes and transforming them into Bottle Openers and allowing my creativity to run wild. I took the Blacksmithing I was learning, along with the knowledge of welding I had and combined them both with making small sculptures. At the recommendation of many admirers of my work, I created a Facebook Page to showcase my latest work of art. This led me to sell some of my creations by the use of the internet. As I crafted my artwork, I would place them online for sale. I was very pleased to know my talents were appreciated as much as I enjoy making them." That was one helluva cool story, thanks for sharing it with us! We certainly hope you get to pass down your craft to another generation in your family and keep it going.
