TRIP ADVISOR REVIEWS
I had the pleasure of staying at El Patio 77 during my first visit to Mexico City on holiday.
The B&B was exactly what I was looking for, combining the comfort and cleanliness that you might find in a quality hotel, but the character and homeliness of a B&B. I find such accommodation allows me to feel more at home when exploring a new place and El Patio 77 was no exception.
The accommodation was an easy Uber ride from the airport and I was warmly greeted by the staff (who kindly spoke English to me). They were very helpful during my stay and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, offering advice on local services, attractions in CDMX and transport.
The San Rafael neighborhood is perhaps lesser known to tourists and will come down to personal taste. It is a little grungy but I felt safe and found it more interesting than the hotspots of the La Roma and Condesa districts. I found it easy to walk or bike ride to the historic district, but it is also a quick and cheap Uber.
Of special note is the interior design of the building - it has been designed with attention to detail and sustainability. I found it to provide a quiet oasis to return to after a busy day in the bustle of CDMX.
I would also highly recommend eating in for the included breakfasts - they will not disappoint. I was served coffee, fresh mango juice and a hot Mexican breakfast (menu changes daily).
All in all, I highly recommend El Patio 77 if you're looking for somewhere to feel at home while experiencing the charm, character and diversity of beautiful CDMX.
