One of the stops we made was at an awesome winery Vena Cava. The place was made of refurbished ship pieces and boat roofs. #venacava#valledeguadalupe#wineries#ensenada#baja#welovemexico#teamo

One of our favorite exhibitions during @designweekmex was @forgenerationstocome’s show at @angulocero. The colors, concept, art work, and overall curation of the exhibition left us wanting to acquire every single piece made by artist @michelle_gratacos_arill - it’s on until December at Ángulo Cero, go check it out if you’re around!

TRIP ADVISOR REVIEWS

I had the pleasure of staying at El Patio 77 during my first visit to Mexico City on holiday.
The B&B was exactly what I was looking for, combining the comfort and cleanliness that you might find in a quality hotel, but the character and homeliness of a B&B. I find such accommodation allows me to feel more at home when exploring a new place and El Patio 77 was no exception.
The accommodation was an easy Uber ride from the airport and I was warmly greeted by the staff (who kindly spoke English to me). They were very helpful during my stay and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, offering advice on local services, attractions in CDMX and transport.
The San Rafael neighborhood is perhaps lesser known to tourists and will come down to personal taste. It is a little grungy but I felt safe and found it more interesting than the hotspots of the La Roma and Condesa districts. I found it easy to walk or bike ride to the historic district, but it is also a quick and cheap Uber.
Of special note is the interior design of the building - it has been designed with attention to detail and sustainability. I found it to provide a quiet oasis to return to after a busy day in the bustle of CDMX.
I would also highly recommend eating in for the included breakfasts - they will not disappoint. I was served coffee, fresh mango juice and a hot Mexican breakfast (menu changes daily).
All in all, I highly recommend El Patio 77 if you're looking for somewhere to feel at home while experiencing the charm, character and diversity of beautiful CDMX.

He lost an eye and a hand in a fireworks accident. But he still sure knew how to paint!

Jose Clemente Orozco was one of Mexico's greatest muralists -- who painted fiery frescoes of Mexico's struggle for independence and the suffering of the masses.

This mural section shows Father Miguel Hidalgo brandishing a flaming torch -- he was the priest who inspired the Mexican people to rise up against their Spanish conquerors.

If you visit Guadalajara, you must see these emotional and thought-provoking Orozco murals! (See more in our NEW post on the Orozco murals on our SandInMySuitcase.com travel blog.)

San Cristóbal de las Casas is a beautiful little city in the mountains of Chiapas Mexico. We travelled there by bus and really enjoyed breathing in the crisp mountain air after the humid hot weather of Yucatan 🙃

Last week in 🇲🇽 ....SWIPE.... 10 years ago on our honeymoon in 🇲🇽!!! ——————
10 years. 10 YEARS! There are so many differences between these 2 images. When you get married you think you know where you’ll be in 10 years, how successful you’ll be, how many kids you will (or won’t 😂) have, how much money you’ll have...And so on. I can say we knew nothing of where we’d be 10 years ago! We hoped for the best of course & in many ways Clay & I can look at each other today & count the tangible blessings we didn’t think we’d have but we sure can count the ones we thought we would have....and don’t. ———————What feels so monumental about the time of 10 years is not that we have to say “it’s been hard...it’s been long....” and we’re making it. No! What’s amazing to me is that we, in all situations & challenges & difficulties have been so FOR each other and IN LOVE with each other! Y’all may scoff or not believe this but we’ve never had a major marital issue. NEVER. I believe our strength has been a natural (God-given) ability within us to “count one another” as “more valuable” or “significant” than ourselves. (Phil 2:3) We genuinely want more for each other. That’s been a tangible gift from God I can see. ————————
I’ve kinda been super sad for a while feeling forgotten by God but today as I ponder on 10 years & I see our love-our passion-our joy to share this life together...Even through the dreams that haven’t come about-the feelings of failure & unsuccess we both have recently experienced... I CAN see where God has poured himself out on us. In our marriage. In our love.
The past 2 years have been difficult. The past year, painful. But in no way in our own challenges separately or in our own “life issues” have we ever been lead away from each other. All things have pulled us closer & more in line to each other & more in love. If that isn’t Gods care & provision I don’t know what is. If nothing else-success in marriage & parenting...well who could want more than that?! —————————
@timberwuhf I freaking love you with all I am & all I hope to be. ♥️♥️♥️♥️ Yours. Forever.

One of the most fundamental building blocks to a sustainable future? Water.
Last year we were given 10,000 gallons of water a month for our one community. And this month our second location was just given water!!! #lovewell #belove #water #itstartswithwater #cleanwater #sustainability #sustainablefuture #hopeandafuture #everychildmatters #instagood #communitydevelopment #nonprofit #welovemexico
