As part of of #GoFundMe campaign (link in my profile) ‘#Gambia - Victims, and Resisters of a Regime’ - #Portraits4PositiveChange / image (c) Jason Florio: Fatoumatta Sandeng, daughter of murdered Gambian opposition leader, Solo Sandeng. She escaped into exile to Senegal after her father's murder in 2016 - at the hands of Yahya Jammeh's security forces - fearful that she would be targeted next. A year after her father's murder, and Jammeh's exile (to Equatorial Guinea), the perpetrators came forward and disclosed the secret forest grave of her father.
@JasonFlorio & Helen Jones-Florio (@floriotravels) - Please help support our GoFundMe campaign so that we can continue to make an extensive #Portraits4PositiveChange body of work - which will be used as tools of #advocacy to help bring #Jammeh2Justice
Beginning December 1st, 2018, in The Gambia, during a 6 week time-frame, we aim to make over 100 portraits. We have a couple of weeks to reach our GFM goal, whatever you can donate - or even sharing the link to our GFM page - will be hugely appreciated. Thank you 🙏
We will personally cover our time and living costs, for 6 weeks whilst in the Gambia, but we are kindly asking for support to cover the bare bones expenses only - All funds raised will help to pay for:
Return Flights x 2 – London-Banjul
On the ground in Gambia:
Local transport (car/driver/fuel).
Portrait prints - a gift - for each subject we photograph (100 people)
_ *To keep costs down, we won't be offering any fancy gifts. BUT, if you supply us with your contact details, when you make your donation, we will send you a hand-made postcard, all the way from the Gambia*
