Shopping for meal prep used to be such a chore.
Food shopping to never be an enjoyable process because I would go and shop for the same boring foods. Usually the same exact frozen vegetables, the same kinds of meat, and pretty much everything else the same. I would shop for the two weeks between paychecks, and then get so bored with my food.
But then I realized ... Stop being dumb and shop smarter and not harder. As of recent I have chosen to shop weekly and man did that pay off. I am hardly ever bored of my food (only if I repeat meals) and my fruits and vegetables are no longer frozen.
There has been such a difference in my food by doing it this way that my body is responding better to it and I feel a lot better. Shopping this way has open up the doors of variety to my diet again and now can enjoy my food again.
This weeks menu:
🥔 Oven roasted potatoes (main carb source)
🥦 Oven roasted broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, and golden bears.
🐓 Grilled BBQ Chicken
🥩 Mexican Taco Burgers
🇬🇷 Greek flavored lamb burgers (my Italian version).
I used to be someone who would go and get the same shit every week and deal with it. Convenience used to be something I would chase to save time. Now I am not saying don’t do biweekly shopping, if it fits your schedule then do it! But if you can shop weekly and take advantage of the freshness of the vegetables and meats, I’d advise that too! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Happy shopping! And learn from me, and realize freshness is always best. Your tastebuds will thank you later! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
P.s. the beer isn’t mine ... haha!
