I recently took an enneagram test (I know, I'm a bit late to the party!) but I was listening to a fascinating podcast on @storybrand_ about how each personality type leads and I was curious as to what a test would conclude about me. It pretty much nailed me or at least the me I am today.
Apparently I am an Eight and have the characteristics of being direct (oooh yeah), self-reliant, self-confident, and protective (yep - mama bear!). I think it would have been kind of cool if my younger self had been told, "This is who you are, embrace it!" It would have avoided years of being less self-confident than I am today and worry that I was being too direct and bossy.
An Eight is known as The Challenger - we enjoy taking on challenges and challenging ourselves and others to exceed themselves in some way. This is so true! I am always evaluating myself and how I do things to come up with better ways to do them or to better myself. And looking back, I've given myself plenty of challenges - becoming an engineer when math and chemistry were my worst subjects, working in all male environments, changing my career and starting my own company over the age of 40. Even this year in business has been exceedingly challenging, but because of that I am even more so looking forward to the year ahead.
So this is Jennifer, your sometimes too-blunt, always up for the challenge, super protective of those I love, small business owner. I am really glad you're following along! Tell me what enneagram you are!
