So, this happened over the past few days.😁 These delectable sausages and jerky were processed from the 2 deer I harvested this past hunting season and were handmade by myself with a lot of help from the Chahley Clan!! All totalled, we got 18 pounds of Greek sausages made with feta, lots of fresh herbs and sundried tomatoes, 15 pounds of blueberry maple, and 12 pounds of Coconut Curry. We also got just over 5 pounds of teriyaki jerky and 3 pounds of salt and pepper with about another pound and a half to go through the smoker box since I couldn't fit it all in a once🤬 I also cut about 10 nice sized roasts from them as well for stews and such, and for the first time I kept the shanks too for a good slow cooker recipe somewhere down the line. I will tell you, this is a labor of love. The amount of work and skill it takes from the rifle shot to finished product is no joke. It's easy to take your harvest to someone to get it taken care of ie, cut, wrapped, turned into finished product, but the results are not as good from pre packed mixes (seriously, who's gonna make blueberry maple sausages except a stoned chef/butcher/hunter savage🤘) and I'll always wonder if what I got back from a butcher was what I brought in as well as overall its expensive, and I'm cheap but want a good product.
