Meet phenomenal artist Mitjili Napurrula! Mitjili is a Pintupi woman from the Haasts Bluff region in the Northern Territory. Not only an acclaimed artist herself, with several of her artworks collected by major state and regional galleries around the country, Mitjili also comes from a family of prestigious artists and community leaders. In her representation of her father’s Country, Uwalki, Mitjili depicts ‘Kulata Tjukurpa’ or Spear Dreaming. The distinctive forms of Mitjili’s artworks representative of the root system, landscape and location of the plant used to make spears.
We can’t get enough of her bold style and graphic use of block colour! 🤩👌🏻❤️
