One of my beautiful “neighbors”, from down the kindergarten hall, surprised me with this book today.
To me, Mr. Rogers represents so much of what I want to put out into the world: slowing down, patience, inclusivity, friendship, kindness, acceptance, curiosity, and love of learning. He is my reminder to be present, and to connect from my heart.
Whoever shared time with Mr. Rogers was his entire world for those moments. He stayed connected, present, and lovingly held space for another to be whoever they were in that very moment.
Did you know that last week I hosted a teachers get-together to watch the documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Just a couple days before the scheduled viewing, while watching Mr. Rogers YouTube videos, I found out that the date of my get-together was also Mr. Rogers birthday!! I was blown away by the synchronicity.
My friends, today and every day I want you to know “there’s no person in the whole world like you, and I like you just the way you are”. If you ever need a reminder, I’m here my friend. #mrrogers #mrrogersneighborhood #wontyoubemyneighbor #acceptance #bepresent #love #kindergarten #teacher #ourfuture
