I’ve been trying to make an effort to be off my phone as much as possible on Sundays, and sleep in on Mondays to prepare myself for the new week. I’m a big advocate of BALANCE with our physical health (working out/eating), but sometimes I forget to find that Work-Life Balance, and I can feel when it’s becoming an issue. Your body will tell you when you’re doing too much. Well, my shoulders feel the wrath of my stress, and my anxiety and mood do too. And because I work so much from my phone between my jobs, I am learning the importance of disconnecting and focusing on what’s around me, not on my screen. I don’t want to feel resentment and restlessness because of my phone, and I don’t want those around me to feel that way about me being on my phone.
So cheers to a new week— a BIG week in the Destin area, a big week for a lot of us, kicking off Summer, graduations, vacations! I hope that we can be mindful about our celebration and embracing what’s around us, and find that balance between our screens and our lives. •
