Not sure how we got this since my kids were literally just whining and teasing 5 seconds before!! The last thing I want to portray is that this right here is easy ( or joyful)... because... it's NOT!! Renovations are stressful... add in 4 kids whom we want to teach and #BAM !! Although teaching our children will eventually reap great rewards for both them and us, they are little and still learning a lot! They are impatient, frustrating and give me major ANXIETY while at a jobsite. HOWEVER... just like you and I, it takes time and desire to learn new skills. Most of the time it's forced I'll be honest. Our children are just like most children... they would MUCH rather be playing on the I-pad, watching TV or just hanging out. (And they get plenty of that!!!) But as parents we really want to instill hard work and team work into our children. It's hard you guys... like REALLY hard. But we keep at it. They come to the jobsite in small time increments with age and skill level appropriate jobs to accomplish. We try and come later at night when the crew is gone and try to make some things fun for them... but lets get real, most of the time work is NOT fun. It's work! But with love, patience and guidance we keep TRYING! Sometimes I feel bad one of them has to miss out on something fun or is late to a prior commitment. Sometimes I ask myself are we doing the best for our children?? And the answer is ALWAYS yes. Yes we are. Teaching and guiding our children to become useful, purposeful and responsible humans is one of the best things we as parents can do! .
