Idk if any of y’all order groceries online but if you don’t... you NEED to. It saves me SO much time. FWTFL has weekly meal plans now that include a grocery list.🎉 I use that list to order my groceries (Walmart app) 📲 and 🚗💨. I don’t even get out of the car bc they put them in for me. 🙌🏼 I still have the occasional Publix run, some things are just better at Publix 🤷🏼‍♀️ But y’all, it saves me so much time and money.

I had already convinced myself last night that I would take this day as my rest day. I’d had a very busy evening Wednesday and was up later than normal. BUT, come 5:00am I was up, read my devotions, and busted out my @liift4 workout. @marsella.reyes I see you looking at me 👀

Recently, I’ve changed my tune on weight. Let me explain why 👇🏻⠀
∙⠀
On both ends of the spectrum, I think we’ve given weight too much power. And it’s understandable. As Americans, our culture is steeped in rhetoric about our weight (for a ton of different reasons).⠀
∙⠀
For basically my entire life, I’ve been on either end of the spectrum with my opinion on weight. I’ve obsessed over it and tried to achieve the smallest # possible, and I’ve completely disregarded it and decided it’s entirely unimportant.⠀
∙⠀
Now, I’ve realized I don’t agree with either approach.⠀
∙⠀
I get why we would want to (🙋🏼‍♀️I did) ignore it and remove it completely from the discussion of health - it’s been on way too high of a pedestal, and for some it may bring up past trauma.⠀
∙⠀
Weight is not, by any means, the only determinant of health. It is certainly not the determinant of your worth & ability to love yourself as a human being. As a country, we would do a lot better to focus more on healthy behaviors than we do weight. But weight does matter. It is tied to health. Let’s not give it so much power that we either obsess over it and let it define us or avoid it like the plague and resent anyone who says it’s anything more than unimportant.⠀

You DO NOT have to focus on weight if you don’t want to, but know that it is possible to acknowledge it’s value and use it as one of many data points without detriment to one’s mental health.⠀

The air going into my lungs was heavy, the rain was coming down (thank you Universe for feeding my family’s crops 🌽), I had to break out my inhaler 2 minutes into my workout just after my warmup 😳#AsthmaSucks, I thought how am I going to make it through today’s lit 🔥 cardio?

Then I thought about all the ladies and gents in my online fitness accountability group, I thought about YOU, and I told myself if I expect them to push themselves, to overcome their excuses, to overcome their own challenges - I must lead by example and do the same. And so I did. I showed up. I gave my workout my all. I lit 🔥 my garage on fire and there’s not an inch of my body not covered in sweat because of YOU.

The day I decided to be a coach on that cold, wintery December day back in 2015 a new Carly was born. Each and every day I’m so grateful for the opportunity I have to make an impact on my life by positively impacting others, and I just want to say thank you for being here supporting me through this journey! It’s because of YOU that I’ve been consistent at showing up for myself these past 3.5 years and you don’t know how much that means to me.

i feel like i’m screaming it from the rooftops but i’m starting 80 day obsession again on Sept 3rd ‼️ and this time around i’m taking my nutrition seriously. i got amazing results last time ignoring the nutrition aspect but this time i’m going for ultimate results which means my nutritions needs to be on point.

i’ve always struggled with healthy eating. my love of sugar often gets the better of me. but i’m going to start having my regular protein shakes again, eating only natural sugars and cutting down on the baking.
but of course, allowing myself to indulge during the holidays 😉🎃🎄im human after all!

When they say it’s leg day but still have you running laps around the gym like it’s a cardio day 🥵🔥 Happy Thursday friends! I went out last night and got some new sneakers 🖤 can’t go wrong with all black nikes and these were so L I G H T when I picked up the box I was convinced it was the display pair and the box would be empty 😂 they survived their first leg day though so I guess they’re keepers 👍🏻 hope everyone has a wonderful day, we’re so close to the weekend I can smell it!!!

And the ones who just came into my life to take a part of me. To teach me something, you know? I try to think about everything. about the decisions we both had made prior. The ones which precisely led us to each other. Every little detail. Every little thought. Every little move. It was all for this. You came to me at the perfect time. You came to me when i needed you the most. When i needed someone to laugh with. Someone to take me out of the darkness. Out of the box i was living in. I was lost and i needed you more than i knew. I think about us. And what i had to do to deserve you. To be bless by someone so beautiful. You've change me. You've helped me realize who i am. What i want and what's important. You're more than just someone i fell in love with. More than just a girl who's in love with a boy. A boy who had the slightest clue of what he wanted before you. You're so much more. I don't know what I'll do without you. I don't know what will become of me. And i don't want to find out. I love you now. I love you tomorrow. But still, i think about you. About us. and about how different my life was just a few years ago. I would have never imagined this. Not in a million years. You have saved me in so many ways. Working on My Fitness! Going on my third week with the new workout Mike gave me!! I like it. It’s amazing how fast you see results (well, I feel them & everyone else sees them). One if the things that helps me the most is my bullet journal. I am going to design one for my store Gypsy’s Graphics along with stickers. I’m so glad I prepped some things to eat during my move! It’s been non stop busy for the last few days and I haven’t been the most strict when it comes to my eating but I made sure to prep some foods ahead of time to cut down on any junk I ate. I’m officially moved in so now the unpacking and decorating begins 😊 first on my list is the kitchen so I can finally cook some real foods again 😊

I spent the night at open gym working on my power snatch. I monopolized the time of my beautiful, patient coach Katie, but some things started to click for me and my lift doesn't look terrible! I have a long way to go and many sessions of slow, intentional movement, before I really get there I think. I am glad I took the time tonight to work on form. I really need to get good form in order to avoid injury. Good form also means I can lift heavy later down the road. So after over an hour of lifting (low weight though) what's a girl to do? What’s your why? What’s the reason you decided to pursue this journey toward health. To lose weight. To compete. Whatever it is you’re trying to accomplish- what is your why? You need one- it’s what keeps you going day after day. Drops yours below- I want to hear them!

Mine is me, but it’s also him. I do this for me because I deserve to do something I love but also deserve to treat my body with respect, but knowing what a good example living a healthy and active lifestyle is setting for him is constant motivation.

Knowing that my son watching me go through the process of prep is teaching him to not give up on his goals. That’s constant motivation.

Seeing him try yoga or pick up weights and run because I do, and seeing the excitement on his face when he does it. That’s motivation.

You see, in doing these things for me, I’m also automatically doing them for him and teaching him important lessons- but because things like this tend to go full circle- the lessons I’m teaching him also turn around and teach me in return.

Teach me exactly what I’m capable of, teach me how to be a better mother, how to better encourage my son when he needs it but also how to better encourage my own self when I need it too.

Children are very wise and observant if you just give them the time of day they can and will teach you a TON.

I’m my why- but he’s my why too- and because of that- I refuse to give up. I refuse to settle. There’s nothing wrong with being average but I don’t WANT to be average. And to him- I’m not. I’m SUPER mom. I’m his safe zone and I can do ANYTHING.

My motivation to put in the work ebbs and flows some days as it does for everyone- but this why- me and him- this is what keeps me going.
