1: Any exercise that works the heart is great for long term health! Cardio and weights both provide that!

2. Burning calories is important for weight loss! Cardio and weights both do that!
.
3. Type of cardio- most general public will lean towards long distance running at a moderate intensity. This is a great option if you enjoy it and are training for a marathon of some sort. In terms of transforming your body type to have more muscle or aesthetics short distance sprints are your best bet(H.I.I.T.) because they provide a release of growth hormone that long distance does not.

Cardio 2- most people choose cardio first in their transformation process because it is easier to just go on a treadmill then to learn weight lifting mechanics or to research how many reps, how much weight, which exercises do I do? So they will go to the gym 3-5 times a week just doing cardio maybe some weights but nothing to challenging. They will lose some weight, and eventually plateau. .
Weight Training- with consistency and the overload principle hitting each muscle group at least once/twice a week in rep ranges of 3-12 will change your physique, you will become more confident in yourself due to strength gains, and your body will burn more calories during rest due to increase in lean body mass. Plus I am pretty sure lifting weights gets your heart rate going!🔥👊🏼🙌🏻

My truth- if you want to look average and feel average you will train average. If you are going to the gym and you are not seeing results I suggest you prioritize more time weight training, and include sprints or recreational sports twice a week as your cardio! Write down your true fitness goal and make sure your workouts lead to that result! Let me know what you think in the comments below!

7-8 hours of sleep- it is very hard to resist temptations when we are tired from the day before. The body will want any kind of energy(sugar) to stay awake and active. Hence why hangovers are brutal for this! Sleeping 7-8 hours is also where prime recovery takes place in terms of muscle gain and weight loss adaptations!💪🏼👌🏼

Fibre, Protein, Fats- Fibre will take up all the space in your stomach, protein takes time to breakdown and digest so eating tons of chicken is very difficult, and fats are important for hormone regulation which can make or break your fat loss goals.

Drink BLACK Coffee- Because it’s coffee, the greatest pre workout supplement around. And it helps cut cravings. If I’m ever feeling some dark chocolate, I’ll make a coffee first.👍🏼

Resistance Training- training frequently will help you prioritize certain foods and your body will become more efficient at letting you know when you are actually hungry. I train so I can eat what I love to eat more frequently!🙋🏻‍♂️🙌🏻

WATER- drink water all the time, 24/7. Every 20 minutes have a water bottle with you all the time. Drink some before you go to bed, and right when you wake up! A lot of the times we think we are hungry, we are actually dehydrated!!!🌊

It is important to spend more time developing the movement pattern for the major lifts of squat, deadlift, and bench press. These are your foundation builders of strength and muscle! The overhead barbell press and barbell row are also main compound lifts that are crucial for long term gains!💪🏼

Isolation exercises are best at the end of every workout if you want develop bigger biceps or triceps. Or if you are underdeveloped in a certain area it is best to focus on that muscle group at the end of the session for reps of 12-15.

If you are not confident with a barbell the best way to be comfortable and confident is to use it everyday you train! Use bands to warm up the required muscle groups and start!

Even it’s just the bar it is far more important that the Smith machine bar. We need to train the stabilizing muscle groups and free weight allows that!🔥💪🏼
