There’s always 2 motivations on a prep! One going onto that stage with the best physic you can possibly share to the crowd, and of course that cheeky treat your friend brings you straight after you’re done.
Each time you reject that temptation to eat something sweet or something that’s not in your macros, it will to be soooo much sweeter and worth it at the end🍔🍩

Ребята по-спортивному задорно и бодро провели время. Вся смена была посвящена кинематографу. Ребята примеряли на себя разные роли, перевоплощались в киногероев - побывали Аватарами. Все без исключения с большим интересом знакомились с историей кинематографа, осваивали технологические процессы съемки.⠀

А в последний день смены юные кинолюбители порадовали друзей, наставников и своих близких отчетным кинопоказом. Юные артисты, сценаристы и режиссеры сняли фильм о том, как они провели время вместе с World Gym!⠀

The protraction and retraction of the scapula on the dip variation is all kinds of yum. It’s an area of weakness of mine from years of being a bencher. By having that slight tilt forward - and taking the movement to absolute lock out, so that scapula protracts - it adds an awesome element that a dumbbell or barbell just can’t hit. The other reason I like to use dips is that it’s benchless, the position is not fixed, don’t get me wrong, the reason I like the bench press is it has a bench, but here you have another element that brings balance. The scapula gets to work whereas the bench can block its natural movement pattern. The dip bar allows you to go deep into the abyss achieving the biggest chest stretch known to King Kong. If we only hit dumbells and barbells - this can be an area of absolute weakness leaving 🦍 tight as a 🐪 arse in a windstorm. You only own the ranges you train in. Second to that, no need to rep these bad boys out to exhaustion. Keep it short, sweet, slow and focused AF. Keep your dips true, your 🦍 suit large and your food green. Destroy the myth. Make Vegainz 💪🏼🦍🌿

There are many ways to skin the cat (pardon the very unvegainz pun and please don’t harm any kitties) to getting in shape. However - Maintaining some sort of physical shape all year round is about being consistent in your actions and lifestyle choices, rather than up and downs, peaks and valleys 🤜🏼🤛🏼 consistency is 🔑. With every behaviour that feeds you, and gives back to you.
Here are a few things I do yearly to try to maintain shape, health and well-being:
1. I train 5 days per week, 2 Rest days.
When training for raw strength during powerlifting phases I’ll cut back to 4 times per week.
2. Training Consists of Hypertrophy Training, Powerlifting, short HIIT conditioning sessions, and body weight. I also go through cycles of putting in yoga to balance the structure 🧘‍♂️. 4. I eat plantbased whole foods all day Erry’day. Centring my meals around quinoa, whole grains, and potatoes.

5. Foods I eat every day without fail 🧐 Kale, Chinese greens, cruciferous veggies, lentils / beans, berries, rice / quinoa porridge, green tea. 5. I only get boozy a couple of times per year 🍺🍸I don’t drink a lot of alcohol unless it’s a special occasion. (Thinking about it - Wouldn’t you wanna remember your special occasions🧐🧐🧐😂😂😂). I just never been a big drinker. I get more satisfaction bending a bar, rather than drinking one 💪🏼😂. 6. I prep my own meals mainly having a source of carbs, protein and fats. But everything from whole sources except of the treaty occasions.
7. I usually eat around 3-4 meals per day with snacks in between.
8. I eat out about 1-2 times a week.
9. I try to get at least 30 minutes sunlight per day. Which ain’t always possible living in Melbourne.
10. I start every morning with a 10 minute meditation, 4 minute cold shower, a green tea and breakfast, a list of things I need to complete in the day

11. I have a 20 rule around reading books, it’s either 20 minutes or 20 pages (depending upon time constraints). Generally on the topics that can help me.
12. I always try to get a good nights sleep (8 hours). 13. I walk my Boys Chief and Bean 3 times per day.

13. I keep doing these practices from January - December.

SQUATS 107.5x5x5 (last week) 🏋🏼‍♀️
Considering this is 5kg off my squat max last comp, I don't think that's anything to screw my nose up about. Not bad for a first year NATTY powerlifter 😉

I'll be honest with you... I haven't trained ONCE this week. I've done some shoulder rehab in our unit down at Bondi but that's about it. I've been walking everywhere even though I feel like I have a stress fracture in my foot... so slides & connies aren't doing that any favours. 😅🙄

I had some personal things take priority in my life this week and required all of my attention. It's also important for me that I prioritize full recovery from my eating disorder and taking time away from the gym is secretly making me go bonkers in my head but I think long term, this is exactly the challenge I need in my life right now. 🤞🏼

My next powerlifting comp is roughly 6 weeks away and this was meant to be week 4 of my training block which means HEAVY AF shiiiiiiiitttttt. But it is what it is. Honestly, I can't bench this week anyway because of my shoulder issues so perhaps my body was crying out for this accidental "deload". I guess I'll find out next when when I'm back in full swing. 🤷🏼‍♀️
