We are delighted to announce that through our Foundation, we have donated 245 rucksacks through The Rucksack Project for the children of the Taabar Shelter in Jaipur, India. Josie flew out to India this week to donate the funds personally and to present the latest intake of children with their rucksacks.
The Rucksack Project is a collaboration with Taabar Shelter, which helps children who have either lived on the streets or were forced into child labour. The shelter aims to rehabilitate them, re-build their confidence, teach them basic English, Maths and Hindi and find their families. With each donation a rucksack is provided to a child in the shelter, and is filled with the very basics; 3 note books, a pencil case, an english text book, 5 pencils, 1 set of 12 crayons, a colouring book, a ruler, a towel, a toothbrush and a water bottle, these are just some of the items in the rucksack to give them something to call their own.
The Rucksack Project is one of the two projects which we support through our Foundation with the generous help of donations from our travelling guests. We cannot thank you all enough for helping us to help others.
