On the blog today (link in profile), I'm so excited to share the first chapter of Twist of Fate with you! I recently posted the first chapter of The List, book one of my work-in-progress trilogy, and Twist of Fate is my completed novel that I'm currently querying to literary agents. If you've checked out OPwrites.com, then you know I have a 9-5 writing job in addition to writing novels and blogging. *
My best advice to new writers is: be humble and seek feedback from people who are more experienced than you are. I'm grateful to have supportive friends and family members in my writing tribe - there are many people I'm incredibly grateful to from an amazing husband who loves my brand of crazy and is a saint for living with a writer, to my wonderful beta readers, to my hilarious group chats - thank you and I love you all. *
Today I want to especially call out my amazing and talented friend @authormadisonnight who has published two books and is working on her third. I was lucky enough to recently read the first few chapters and I'm already hooked - I bug her every day to write faster! You can find the links to her published novels in her profile - check her out, you won't be sorry! *
Madison has provided me with invaluable feedback and even though I consider myself an experienced writer who has the privilege of being paid to do so, I learn so much from her feedback and I'm becoming a better writer for it. I never want to be stagnant and the only way to learn and grow is to be challenged. *
My dear writer friends, I encourage you to keep an open mind and find your Madison, who is gracious with her experience and willing to take time out of her busy day to help others. One day, I look forward to being Madison to someone else! *
I'm constantly amazed by how supportive the Instagram community is, so let's keep it going! Tag your writing tribe below if they're on the 'gram or tell me about someone who has supported you on your journey. *
And hey, if you're only here for Buster the boxer, I posted something in my story just for you!
