My gorgeous little girl who turned 3 today!
There were a number of reasons why I finally decided enough was enough and lost the weight, obviously my daughter is a big part of that. It’s not easy being a single mummy especially to a strong willed albeit loving independent and clingy little girl (who seems to think sleep is her mortal enemy ) and working full time in my career with a now long commute but the good moments are far greater than any downsides. My daughter is wonderful, clever, amazing little girl and I’m truly thankful that she is in my life. I (luckily) enjoy my job and have lovely work colleagues. My move is (hopefully) temporary so I know it’s only a momentary thing and the house is nice it’s just in the wrong location.
It has been easy and sometimes difficult losing the weight but being focused, dedicated, keeping it interesting and focusing on the positives and the future helped get me through it. My journey hasn’t ended yet, I’m maintaining and wouldn’t mind losing a bit more/toning up however I know that if I stay focused then I’ll get there and feel fantastic along the way.
If you’re starting out, in the midst or near the end, wherever you are on your journey remember to celebrate the minigoals, reflect on how far you’ve come and aim for the future whilst enjoying the changes occurring in the now. It’s worth it I feel like a better happier mummy now for my daughter, more confident and making better healthier choices for both of us. There will always be challenges in life but focus and perseverance is key, if you’re determined enough then you can succeed.
Whatever your motivation is, you can do this!
