Anyone else having a busy long week? Let me let you in on a little secret:
Professional Organizers get overwhelmed too. 🤫
It’s true! I have days where I’m not sure whether I’m coming or going. Occasionally I don’t even know what day it is to be honest. As a mom, wife, and busy #bosslady I’m constantly juggling multiple things, and my to-do list never seems to get smaller.
If this sounds like you too, here are some things I do to recharge, de-stress, and reduce overwhelm:
#1. Ok this is number one for a reason so if this is your only take away, PLEASE, do this one thing. Promise:
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!
Remember what they say, put your own oxygen mask on first. We women especially tend to forget this, or feel guilty for doing something for ourselves, but the truth is, if you don’t take care of you and recharge your body and soul first, you won’t have anything left to give. So take a nap, get a massage, read a book, take a walk, and #letgo.
Whatever you have to do will most likely be there tomorrow.
So this is worth repeating:
Take care of you #1!
#2 Write it down. Our minds get cluttered too which can lead to overwhelm, so get it out of your brain and onto paper. Then come back and look at it later after you do #1. Again.
#3. Snack size it. Don’t try to do everything or even think about doing everything. We reach our goals in bite sized snacks. Research shows that we are most productive working on ONE thing at a time in sma chunks of time.
Multitasking is a myth. So is perfection.
That’s all I got for today. Now I’m gonna go #takeanap and not feel guilty about it one bit.
It’s #Fridayjr !!!
