We had quite a day yesterday. After the good walk we had in the morning, Sunday's arthritis started acting up again and it was the worst episode she's ever had. The past few days have been already rough for her, possibly because of the cooler temps due to the rains. She felt better and back to normal yesterday morning, then after lunch she was immobile and crying in pain. I had never heard her cry before, and it was heartbreaking. It was also heartbreaking to see that she couldn't move, she couldn't even scratch her head, and she was just stuck in one position. We had to use a trolley to move her and get her into the car so she could go to the vet. At the vet, we learned that there are now many bone spurs on her spine which is why any movement is difficult and painful for her. We also found out last night that she has heart murmur. She'll need to do a heart ultrasound (scheduling this asap) so we can find out what we are dealing with. She barely slept last night; she kept crying. I'll be consulting with a specialist to find out what treatment/management we could give her to ease her pain. She's feeling a bit better today. She was happy to see her old yaya, and she kept moving around.
My Sunday girl is turning 9 years old next month, and we already have plans for a beach celebration. My birthday wish for her is for her get stronger, to feel better, to live longer with me, and to continue making me & many others happy with her beautiful smile. We have so many plans (she's launching her business very soon!), and many more adventures to go on. I love you so much, my baby girl! We'll get through this together, okay? We've got this!!!
Please keep her in your prayers and send her good vibes. Thank you - Sunday's Mom #mommysgirl #mustlovedogs #dogarthritis #seniordog
