People tell us we should “do” more. We should have an ebook and videos for sale, and we should create high quality content so that companies want to work with us or create products of our own to sell etc... -
but what’s up with everyone in this country trying to be bigger? What’s wrong with small? -
Call us old school but we like teaching workshops in person and meeting people. We would create quality content for purchase if we had the money to dump into renting equipment, a space to film, hiring someone to shoot us, and then find a platform to host them that would charge us a reasonable rate, but that hasn’t happened and that’s okay with us too. I’ve thought about writing an ebook for ages but I’ve never been fully stoked on the idea. i like writing my stories so maybe that will eventually become a book but until it does, i won’t feel pressured to churn out something that i don’t love. -
I guess we’re pretty basic. We like our time when we’re not traveling to be here at home, with Nalu, and each other. We like to enjoy our lives before they fly by and i can only look back and wonder what happened to the time. -
We don’t mind that we rent an old townhouse, when we moved in this was more than i could imagine, because we moved from the van. It’s awesome to be business savvy and make tons of money, especially if you enjoy doing it. We aren’t and we don’t, so why ‘should’ we do anything besides what we WANT to be doing?!

Because society tells us we should always make as much money as we possibly can? I won’t subscribe to that mentality. As long as we have food on the table, a home over our head, clothes on our backs, and shoes to protect our feet, i think we’re set. #minimalists

Goddess forbid we even talk about our periods in public….everything must be smothered in white and kept perfectly clean and hidden. That’s what society shoves down our throats. Had to bring out these amazing @cutebootylounge white leggings and Moon lamp from @mindfulbohemian to dive into this one!! Let me share with you what your menstrual cycle does NOT have to be like: Bloated, icky, uncomfortable, shameful, traumatic, dirty, hidden, crampy & PMS-y, intolerable, irregular, heavy, hormonally out of control, full of mood swings and uncontrollable junk food or sugar cravings.

What if it was more like a time that you cherished and held sacred? What if you looked forward to it every month? What if it was orgasmic, blissful and felt like you were melting into your body with ecstasy? What if you were able to surrender sensually into a day of relaxation, rest, rituals, honoring and pleasure? What if it was the time of the month where you felt so deeply connected to your yoni, sensuality, inner wisdom, intuition and divinity? What if you could create and go inward and dance with your shadows and heal? What if you felt seduced by your menstrual cycle? We are connected to mother earth, our fellow sisters, our wombs and the moon!  It's sole purpose is to create, to manifest.  From spark, to flame, to fire, to ashes, to spark again... it is a symbolic creative process that can be applied to many aspects of life. The menstrual cycle is about womens’ energy and power; the power to be, to restore, to receive & to create. Women do not learn magic, women are magic.  It is nature, it is our birthright, and we should be forever thankful for the opportunities our menstrual cycles bring us.  Women are Natural Shamans, they just need to understand and use the power they hold within. 👇👇👇👇👇

Я когда-то думала, что это невозможно для меня. Ну то есть мне хотелось встать на голову, пусть с опорой на локти, но были сомнения по типу: не гимнастка, из спорта только школьный пионербол и веселые старты в начальной школе, тяжёлый низ, не Дюймовочка 🙈

Ещё тренера обычно миниатюрные, да и девочки, которые стоят на руках в инсте одного типажа- где-то 165 и стойняшки. А я 10см выше. И когда год назад на йоге в классе все пробовали стойку на голове я чо то пас была. Ну и мотивация тичера вообще не шла. Я думала- легко говорить, подними таз, если ты как Дюймовочка, а у меня ноги как все твое тело наверное по весу 🙈 это как второго человека поднять! вот где можно словить привет от позвоночника 🤪 Короче полная осознанность была включена 😂

А недавно стукнуло в голову. Именно стукнуло:) Что могу, и нужно попробовать, через несколько попыток получилось 😊 Ноги вытягиваются вертикально:) , только всегда вспоминаю главное правило фотографии как мантру - не реж по суставам! Поэтому части тела стараюсь не обрезать :) ⠀

Оставлю себе тут как пруф, вдруг потом забудется что могу :)

[Meaning]
urdhva=上へ、上向き(Upward)
dhanur=弓(Bow)


[Benefit]
・腕、手首、脚、臀部、背骨の強化
・身体の前面全体の筋肉のストレッチ
・胸と肺のストレッチ
・身体全体の血液循環を良くする
・腹部と骨盤の臓器を強くする
・ストレスの軽減



○尾骨を恥骨の方に押し上げてお尻を引き締めて(※硬くしない)、お尻を床から上げる。 
→両手と両足で床を押すとき、尾骨と肩甲骨で背中を押すイメージで床から持ち上げて両腕を真っ直ぐ伸ばす。

◎首を最初に上げると胸椎が動かなくなる為、胸の位置が上がりきってから、首を気持ちの良い範囲で反らしていく。

When unpleasant things happen in our lives, sometimes, it is very easy to blame other people.

And why not? Sometimes people do treat us wrongly: the barista got our order wrong, or a friend says hurtful things to us, we are being treated unfairly at work, or our partner cheats on us. These things are upsetting, that's completely valid, and we are entitled to feel however we feel in the situation. However, we must, as much as we can, avoid getting trapped in the victim mentality. (Disclaimer: I am not talking about being a victim of heinous crimes. THAT is awful.) Vent. Grieve. Be angry. Cry. We have to do what we have to do. But never be the victim.

We tell ourselves we are victims often enough, we end up living our lives thinking that things just happen to us. Believing we are victims is surrendering our lives into the hands of others.
Don't.
I'm talking about taking control of our lives and how we respond to situations. It's about TAKING OUR POWER BACK.

It's been said that "Experience is the best teacher" The pains, heartaches, are tragic, yes. The REAL tragedy is NOT LEARNING from what we went through. And by learning I don't mean "learning to avoid toxic people" that's  still playing the victim. The real learnings are the ones we learn about ourselves - the ones that we have control of, and the ones only we can change.

Maybe we can understand why we get so upset over the small things? And maybe we can change that. Maybe we can learn why we gravitate towards a certain type of people? And maybe we can change that. Maybe we can learn why we really put up with our jobs? And maybe we can change that.

We can take control. We can actually LIVE our lives instead of just letting things happen to us.

It’s day 8 of #anglesofsummer with Dandasana Lift. I’ve actually never tried this pose, so today was my first attempt and let me tell ya...it is not easy. My quads, core, and shoulders were on fire 🔥 even with the block under my feet to assist me! Definitely make sure to warm up your wrists and quads before attempting this pose. I’m very excited to incorporate this shape into my practice, so I can work on getting my legs up and my shoulders back. 🙏

The benefits of cowface pose are a deep stretch of hips, ankles, thighs, shoulders, armpit, chest, deltoid and triceps. Aids chronic knee pain. Strengthens spine and abdominals. Helps decompress low spine (during folded variation)
To modify straighten front leg or sit on a prop.

#howtocowface #picsorpose Begin in a seated cross-legged position. Slide your knees toward your center line, stacking the right knee directly over the left. It may be helpful to come forward onto your hands and knees to do this. The right knee will be just in front of the left knee. Then separate your feet and come back to sit between them.
Bring your left arm straight up towards the ceiling,
Bend the left elbow, bringing the left hand to the back of your neck. You can use your right hand to gently shift the left elbow toward your midline.
Lift the right arm out to the right side, bend the elbow and bring the right arm up the center of the back.
Clasp hands behind your back.
Draw both elbows toward the center and keep your head from tilting forward by pressing the back of your head into your left arm.
You can stay seated upright nice and tall. Or you can deepen by adding a forward fold.

Tomorrow July 19 is #cowface and I’m your host. This is a beautiful stretch.
#howtocowface #picsorpose Begin in a seated cross-legged position. Slide your knees toward your center line, stacking the right knee directly over the left. It may be helpful to come forward onto your hands and knees to do this. The right knee will be just in front of the left knee. Then separate your feet and come back to sit between them.
Bring your left arm straight up towards the ceiling,
Bend the left elbow, bringing the left hand to the back of your neck. You can use your right hand to gently shift the left elbow toward your midline.
Lift the right arm out to the right side, bend the elbow and bring the right arm up the center of the back.
Clasp hands behind your back.
Draw both elbows toward the center and keep your head from tilting forward by pressing the back of your head into your left arm.
You can stay seated upright nice and tall. Or you can deepen by adding a forward fold.

I read a pretty calming article in @yogajournalgermany today. It was about Yoga and Instagram and it brought it to the point in many aspects.
I don’t know if you agree with me, but sometimes I get this feeling of judgement. Judgement because Instagram may be too „flexy, business and superficial“- not „yogic". I can understand these thoughts but for me that’s superficial too. Behind every picture is a human that worked for that picture, for that pose and for the inner attitude that this human accepts his or her practice and body as it is - otherwise he or she wouldn’t dare to share it. For me it has always been a place of inspiration, motivation and community. It’s not a place where people show off but a place where people come together to share love and experiences. I never saw that in a negative way - all these „stretchy ladies“ got my admiration and the idea of what we can achieve with our physical practice.I wouldn’t dare to judge them because I don’t know them, their lifes or their practice. It’s a place that brought themes closer to me, that didn’t cross my life until now (still trying to get into crystals and podcasts haha)
It’s definitely a thing that depends on how people see it. Instagram has become a part of this world - and we can only make out the best of it.
