A thought... we have immense influence every time we "log-in" to social media. It's as though we are an unexpected guest to another persons world ... We tap into another persons *page* and right away we begin to give our two cents about what we see. All of the sudden, our assumptions, our beliefs, our judgments begin to emerge about this person based on us observing their life as WE see it on social media.
When this takes place, when someone shows up on another persons site/page, without being invited to this persons presumably happy place, and they make statements or judgments, not about the things they love, but assumptions about this persons life, this can be disheartening.
Sadly, we all have a tendency to remember and hold on to these judgments by others. For some reason, these tiny opinions can feel much bigger and more intense than any of the sweet & loving things that are actually said more often. We KNOW we shouldn't focus on these things, and learn to Let It Go.... but we are human, and these are the silly things our minds and hearts do to us.
What other people believe about you is none of your business! Haha I wish I created this statement, because it's excellent advice!
It’s NOT about you. So don't fret over it friend! It's a strange concept, but what other people say or believe about you, even if you are the main topic of the talk, it's not about you.... think about it.
I remember it being drilled into my head when I was young, think before you speak... but, now we need to think before we post:
IS IT KIND? Is what your posting going to help another person?
IS IT TRUE? Is it REALLY the TRUTH, or is what your posting "facts" you heard from someone else? Truth is a strange thing because there is your truth, there is my truth and then there's what is actually the truth. Does anyone really have access to this REAL TRUTH?
IS IT NECESSARY? Are you sure that what you are posting is something that would maybe be better off in your private journal, and not out in the public where it could harm someone. Yet, if it's helpful and with good intention, then my guess is it's necessary. #VinyasaArtsLKN #isittrue #isitkind #isitnecessary #buddha
