CONFIDENCE IS FEELING SAFE ENOUGH TO BE YOURSELF.
For good reason I was hesitant to post these. (swipe for the worst ones 😭)Though I think it’s important. What can appear to be an aesthetic change is a huge change in me as a being. The left photos are from 2014, before I did my yoga teacher training, it was my sisters 21st and I had came home after living in Australia for 2 years. Now obviously they are pretty bad photos and the others ones are pretty good. I wanted to include them though to show my body composition and my skin. What a journey in healing my skin and allowing my body to function better has taught me is that none of these ailments that stopped me loving myself were ever aesthetic or physical problems, but emotional traumas and beliefs I had about myself. I remember that day feeling so fat and aware of my skin and being so sad having to see my friends after such a long time looking like that (note I’m about 7 pounds heavier in the picture on the right - cray). So whats changed other than my looks? Everything! I eat a fully plant based vegan diet, and I ACTUALLY eat, I look after my mental health, I don’t drink or smoke every weekend, I train every day, I practice yoga every day, but mostly I care about myself more. I don’t want to eat crappy foods or talk down on myself, I don’t want to cry because of the way that I look, I don’t want to be tired all of the time, I don’t want to wear make up everyday to hide my skin. On a bad day I still feel like the girl on the left, and I don’t mean physically I mean the way that I felt. Those are the days I have to reflect on how far I’ve came and how much I want to help others who feel uncomfortable inside of their own bodies. Don’t down play your mental health because you think ‘it’s not that bad’, if you’re hating on yourself everyday it’s probably time to seek help. Start healing yourself today, just one small step, as always I’m always happy to talk. ❤️❤️❤️ .
