Half moon posture gives me the sense of strength and stability, an incredible feeling especially during this time of change in my life. The use of the block underneath my bottom hand allows my spine to remain parallel to the floor and the side of my pelvis open. The opening of the top hip broadens the pelvis, creating an easier flow of breath and room for baby. This asana was one I included in my practice during my time of healing my body from #endometriosis- it aids in relieving low back pain, reduce cramping, excessive bleeding and bloating as it creates mobility in the hip joints and increases circulation to the abdominal organs. If practiced during menstruation, allow the leg to be supported to avoid strain in the pelvic region by stretching the extended/lifted leg along a table, with the foot resting on books so the foot is in line with the top hip. Points to observe, is the abdomen falling forward, are you lengthening through your tailbone away from the lumbar spine, and is the abdomen relaxed?

Beyond grateful for the practices of yoga and all the love and light they have brought into my life. Baby and I wish everyone a beautiful Thanksgiving day! Missing my family today (and everyday), my mom's Thanksgiving feast, and sister's sweet potato and marshmallows dish.
