✅ Day 19 - Full Body Flow - Intermediate Vinyasa. I could sit here all day, just not in Marichyasana A 🤣 This is an Ashtanga pose & for a long time I could only reach around my back using a strap. I love how your practice preps your body to be able to find length, strength & flexibility. If you want to achieve challenging poses you definitely have to do the work. Yoga has taught me discipline & patience 🙏

I spend a lot of time thinking about my next workout and planning a schedule that allows for yoga, weightlifting, and cardio (in the form of beat saber ideally or kickboxing), and meeting a daily step goal to keep active even on low action days, and since I'm doing #nanowrimo #nanowrimo2019 as a true #panster I am going into it with lots of other life goals and focuses, such as keeping up a new workout regime that starts with me getting up at 6:30 am and having my workout complete by a reasonable time so I can focus on writing with cooking intervals for breakfast, snack, and dinner. A daily regime will help alleviate extra stress, and it's just a matter of choosing a schedule. I drew out 3 schedule options, and will rotate through each spending 5 weeks in each schedule. Note: yoga should be done after weightlifting or cardio, and ideally only short sessions on weightlifting days due to how it works the fascia and such. A short warmup before yoga is ideal regardless.

1) is primarily focused on shorter weightlifting workouts 4 days weekly, using bodbot to plan my weightlifting workouts takes a lot of pressure off me. It's an app with a lot of function available to free users, more focused workout plans available with subscription membership. I've been happy with it for years as a free member. These days are accompanied by a short 30 min #pokewalk or #kickboxing. Days with double up arrows are longer cardio sessions, or split cardio activities, like a walk and kickboxing or some beat saber with obstacles (I tend to jump after the squats and side step to the beat). Heavy on commitment and workouts. .

2) fewer weightlifting workout sessions all paired with a short cardio sessions. Slow recovery #yogaWednesday , Weekend cardio and yoga cooldown. Balance for variety, increased activity, and allows to try new cardio, like swimming. .

3)simple rotation of a heavy fullbody workout day, 45+ min cardio day, and 45+ min yoga day, .

Sunday off every week due to regular weekend travel plans and recovery from the week itself. .

Balancing postures have so much to teach us. To find the calm stability in a balancing pose, it requires strength, focus, and trust built on a stable foundation. I picked a balancing and stability practice to build that foundation and along the way, I was reminded that the postures themselves are not nearly as important as the journey getting into them. I relied on my strength and foundation, focused on the horizon, took a breath, and trusted myself. I fell, but the ground caught me.

There’s a million things I could have done. Instead I chose to do yoga. And I felt guilty. Because I chose to do something that served me. There’s about 2 hours a day when my house is quiet & I can do whatever I want. Today I chose yoga. All the while questioning myself. •


Why is a clean house more important to me than feeling good in my body? Why is it more important than having a clear mind? Why do I worry more about my kitchen than my headspace? •


We put so much pressure on ourselves to have everything together. We always seem to come last on the list. But we matter.
Have you ever tried to do yoga while a toddler uses your down dog as a bridge? Take my word for it. Choose you. Housework sucks, anyway.

It began with a strong & energising Vinyasa class this morning followed by an extra busy day of racing here, there & everywhere. I felt a bit out-of-sorts by the end of all of that rushing around so I was very grateful for a grounding Yin practice this afternoon 🙏🌞 I think Malasana is my favourite Yin pose, I find it weirdly comfortable & it’s such a great stretch for my lower back👌🏼

10072019 💪📆📝 I am semi back this week. As you all know my mother got hospitalized last week - she had unnoticed chronic ulcer which caused her anemia. She was discharged last Saturday and just this afternoon they've arrived back to our province. Still not fine but at least we now know what's wrong with her. My personal health is a different story altogether: I was feeling down all day Friday (lack of sleep and appetite, generalized body malaise) and had one incident of diarrhea. By Saturday after sleeping back to my own bed I felt much better. My 💩 was still loose. I thought I can squeezed in some yoga after I did my late in the afternoon laundry but a heavy rain changed my plans - my kitchen floor got flooded. On Sunday I had lunch with my family and 🍌 & 🍦 craving triggered two trips to the 💩🚽💩🚽. Called in sick for work today. Whole wheat 🍞 toast and Gatorade were all I can tolerate today. And a ☕ too. So that's my excuses. 🙏♀‍🧘♀‍🙇 @yoga_with_kassandra
