In a world full of "instagram inspiration," as a society, we've lost the ability to be authentic.
We were created to be distinctively different - our eyes, smiles, our laughs, hair, fingerprints, and personalities make us who we are.
This became so clear to me during my quest to find what was making me ill.
After being misdiagnosed for almost 3 years, there was one common statement most doctors made:
"I've had several patients with these same symptoms and it was ___, I'm not sure what we're missing. Are you sure you're having those symptoms?"
I would leave most of my visits confused and bewildered; I began to question myself. It wasn't until I decided to look outside of western medicine that I had my "ah ha" moment.
I remember thinking each of us have different fingerprints, different blood types, etc. How could a doctor determine my diagnosis by comparing me to other patients?
That day I decided to find new doctors and thank God I did! My Pituitary Tumor basically shut down my entire endocrine system which caused the rapid weight gain.
It is important to always listen to your body and never question yourself.
Never compare your progress, symptoms, or success to others.
We were created to be different!
Much like the butterfly your pain and struggle will birth beauty
