This is shingles. Has life been stressful lately? Oh you could say it has.
Between taking care of Dad/Joe, then my grandma dying three weeks ago and trying to take care of my mom through that. Then my aunt putting pressure on us about Dad because she’s just beginning her grief cycle while we have been going through this for years. Then work just getting busier and that’s just how it is. Traveling, not sleeping, not drinking enough water, not taking real time for myself.
So now I have shingles, in what the doctors said is the most painful place. My scalp and eyebrow. I had to go to an eye doctor after the dermatologist to make sure I wasn’t going to lose sight in that eye. Gonna have to take all the drugs and follow up with both of them next Thursday.
Caregivers, you need to take care of yourself. Antidepressants are helpful but can also mask symptoms that can tell you your body needs help. Rest, invest in yourself, get sleep, drink more water, eat more veggies, use essential oils or medicinal marijuana (if you’re lucky enough to get it) or CBD oil to help. Go get massages and light therapy. Take time for yourself.
