People often ask me why I discuss health on certain networks. Why do I appear on CNN and HLN? Why do I go on the Dr. Oz Show? Why do I appear on Fox News? Why Rachael Ray and others?
The reason is simple. When I became a physician I agreed to help all people. In my office I treat everyone- all races, all religions, all backgrounds and so much more. For the record, I know for a fact that I’ve treated people who didn’t want me (as a Black woman) to treat them. But I treat everyone anyway, and just the same. It is the promise I have made to myself, my profession and my patients.
I also decided a long time ago that everyone deserves accurate evidence-based health information. Thus, the shows I appear on are as diverse as the patients I see. It simply comes down to the importance of people getting good health information. So, just as I treat all people... I give health information on tv to all people as well.
Many of you have also asked me about how I got started doing medical media- so many of you have asked that I can’t respond to everyone individually. I’m thinking about doing a video that explains (throw a like on this post or write comments if this would be helpful).
Thank you for being with me on this journey. I feel honored and privileged to not only help patients in my office but outside as well- and I love every bit of it. Thank you 🙏🏾. PS: We’re in the middle of a #heatwave 🔥 right now. I discused how to stay safe yesterday and today (hence the pic)- click bio to go to my YouTube to take a peek. 💕
