I hate it when people ask me how do I keep myself so “motivated” when it comes to business and my fitness, because I believe motivation is garbage, it doesn’t lasts and it’s not something you can count on.
Sure, motivation gets you of bed, lack of it, you stay in bed. Motivation pushes you to burn a few more hours a work, lack of it make you dread work conditions. Motivation can create an abundance of material wealth and contentment, but we all know many people who are dead inside even with all of that.
Motivation is like that treadmill in your garage. You get on it once in a while and no matter how hard you run on it – you’re still in the garage.
I believe that if people keep chasing success by needing the feelings of being motivated, without changing themselves, is a formula for disappointment.
Success is an inside job. Anything that you deem worthy to pursue will be short lived after you attain it, if you don’t work on your inner subconscious and feelings. I guarantee you this: if you’ve got your insides figured it out, there’s nothing you can’t have on the outside and be able to hang on to it. I’m no shrink so don’t ask me how to fix you. But here’s a good start: Next time you catch that inner dialogue about what it is that you want, be aware of the feelings you’re attaching to that thought.
