Only one more week until another fun weekend at @midpond pretty stoked because it's sounding like a lot of good friends and good cars are going to be at this one.
Just got my tires ordered. I'm experimenting with the Kenda KR20's right now because I have redirected my focus to laps-per-dollar rather than cost of tire. Studying this, it's obvious that the Kenda's provide a much better "laps-per-dollar ratio" than just snagging the cheapest tire I can find. Also better performance throughout the tread life. If you do the math you will see that overall this reduces your cost or what I'm going to call "drifting overhead". Also saves time and money by cutting down on mounting/dismounting, disposal, and spares to haul to the track.
Lately I've been hearing more chatter about the Acrova from @zestinotyreusa regarding the same perspective of laps-per-dollar and performance. So far every thing I've heard/read claims the Acrova has better ratio than the KR20. I would like to test this myself though. In the meantime, have any of my friends given the Acrova a shot? If so what's your honest review? I'm considering once I get more consistent with the Cefiro that I'll try to attempt the most unbiased and honest tire comparison that I can between these two tires in the most controlled environment I can possibly create. With @midpond being so active this year that should provide a good playground for this experiment. Either a write up or a video going over the whole test. Do any of you have another tire recommendation that you think would be competitive in this test? Would also like to get other driving friends involved to introduce different power/grip levels, vehicle weights, driving style, etc.
Also this super cool photo is thanks to @marlowmarlowmarlow
