PAWS Chicago@pawschicago

PAWS Chicago is the city's largest No Kill humane organization, focused on implementing solutions to end the killing of homeless pets. #pawschicago

It's Sunday Funday and we have the best way to celebrate - adopt an adult cat at PAWS Chicago! We're reducing adult cat adoption fees through the end of May, all these cats ask for in return is head scratchies, yummy kibble and a sunny window to nap in.

In mid-April, pregnant mama Kona was en route to our Medical Center from a transfer partner. There's never a dull day in animal rescue, so much to our volunteer's surprise, Kona began to give birth on her way to PAWS! We knew she was expecting, but we didn't expect her puppies so soon!

Kona's puppies have started to grow under her watchful eye. She is a wonderful mama and the whole family would love the chance to continue growing in a loving foster home instead of our Medical Center.

Can you offer a safe, quiet space for Kona and her family? Email!

One of our favorite Beagle alumni just checked in and we needed to share this with you. You're still royalty to us, Champ!
"No one tell Champ he could have landed with royalty. This rescue Beagle knows he’s living well today with his not-a-princess. Plus, imagine all the pics he’d have to endure." Champ was with us receiving medical treatment for close to a year before finding his home. When his adopter took him home to foster it was because "he was the saddest looking dog" she saw, but much has changed! Nothing better than a Foster Fail!

Kittens have just arrived at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center and we just can't keep our cool 😻😻😻😻

Sign up to foster and you too could be have your very own snoozing kittens!
Edin and Edison pictured here. Check our website for when they will be available.

Dogglegangers Mattie and Nina wish you a happy #TongueOutTuesday!

We're depressed it's a cold and dreary Monday. AND because Denise, Dylan, Daniella and Darryl weren't adopted during yesterday's event. But the good news for you? They're now available for adoption at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center. So drive on over and meet them!

P.S. Check out those ears...

Thank you to everyone who fostered an animal, adopted a new furry friend, volunteered and spread the word about #AngelswithTails Gold Coast! Join us for Angels with Tails Winnetka on 7/7, Highland Park on 9/8, and Roscoe Village on 10/14! #pawschicago #adoptdontshop

One more hour of #AngelswithTails Gold Coast! Meet these adoptable dogs and cats before 4pm 🐶❤️🐱

A little rain doesn't get in our way! Congratulations to the first adoptions of #AngelswithTails! We're here until 4pm.

How luck can change for these little kittens! At the beginning of April, the PAWS Chicago intake team responded to a plea to help a group of cats impacted by a tragic house fire. Our Medical Center treated them for symptoms developed from smoke inhalation and they have been recovering in foster homes ever since.

But today, several of the kittens are ready to find a home with YOU at the PAWS Chicago Angels with Tails Gold Coast adoption event. We will be at 40 businesses in the Gold Coast neighborhood from 12-4pm. Stop by to meet Taniqua, Tipper, Tate, Tompkins and Tyler today!

Could you give Max a break from shelter life?

Max has been with us for quite some time, only because she’s waiting for the perfect home to come around before settling down. She’s a quirky and spunky, which is why she’d like to get to know you before jumping head over paws in love with you. But once you’re in her circle, you’re in it for life. She is curious about the world around her and hoping to find someone that she trusts to show her all the beauty of the neighborhood. Max will need slow introductions with a patient foster family that will let her get comfortable. Her ideal home would be without other pets and with a big yard for her to romp around in.
