A long exposure capturing the essence of San Francisco, taken by photographer @k.whatswong with the a6000 👉🏽 "I personally feel this is one of the best locations in San Francisco to capture everything you want of the city. Light trails, Golden Gate bridge, and the city, all captured together! This specific shot is comprised of three images stacked together to capture all the trail lights." | a6000 | 35mm f1.4 | f/8 | 130 sec | ISO 100 | #SonyAlpha

An insane aerial view above Iceland captured by photographer @gardarolafsphotography 👀 "The rivers of Iceland look breathtaking from above, especially when the sun is out. Captured while flying over the highlands of Iceland in a small airplane, with my hands frozen, loud wind in my ears and a big smile on my face. I recommend fast shutter speed for aerial photography to keep the images sharp, at least 1/800." | a7R II | 24-70mm f2.8 GM | f11 | 1/800 | ISO 400 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha

We had a very cold and wet trip there in October, but the constant rain delivered some of the most spectacular waterfalls. The autumnal hues were also just beginning to pop! Pictured here is the exact moment that I ran out of dry clothes" | a7R II | 28-70mm f3.5-5.6 | f8 | 1/250 | ISO 100 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha

#SonyArtisan @tonygalephoto proves that sometimes poor weather can create amazing photographic opportunities 🌈 "Rainbow over sea stack at Rialto Beach in Olympic National Park. It had been rainy all day, but while we were at the beach the sun came out and created this amazing rainbow." | a7R III | 100-400mm | 181mm | f/5.6 | 1/2500 sec | ISO 400 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha

Photographer @mikaelyanhayk shares this shot from his hometown Liège, Belgium. Here's a tip from the photographer himself 👉🏽 "You might be wondering why I shot this at f2. The reason is that it gives a smooth blurry foreground and even at f2 you can get a very sharp image with a 28mm prime lens." | a7 II | 28mm | f2 | 1/8000 sec | ISO 200 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha

Sometimes it takes a little effort to fit an entire scene into one frame!" | a7R III | 16-35mm f2.8 GM | 16mm | f14 | 4 sec | ISO 50 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha

Most of the images taken here are captured during the evening, so I decided to create a different frame and capture a daytime version. I was pleasantly surprised to see a reflection off the bus trail after processing this shot! Definitely don't forget your ND filter if you plan to capture long exposures in the daytime." | a7R III | 16-35mm f2.8 GM | f/18 | 2.5 sec | ISO 100 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha

#AlphaCollective member @stanmoniz shares this underwater shot taken during a dive off the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii 🐢 "My trick to underwater photography is always using aperture priority mode at f4. Because almost everything moves very slow underwater, I can count on getting a shutter around 250th of a second which will give me absolutely no blur. If it drops below that, I raise the ISO control on the back plate of my Aquatech housing." | a7R III | 18mm | f4 | 1/250 | ISO 100 | Underwater Housing | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha

That feeling when you get the shot, captured by photographer @black.sail_ 🕺🏾 "There are some pretty crazy rock formations along the northern edge of Kinder Scout in the Peak District. These are called the 'Boxing Glove Stones' and I absolutely destroyed my glutes getting this shot." | a7R II | 28-70mm | f11 | 1/4 sec | ISO 200 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha

Because of the fast moving clouds and the strong waves, I decided to take some long exposure shots. I tried a few different exposure times and finally was pretty happy with the 60 seconds exposure. It´s always important to try different angles, compositions and different exposure times to get the perfect images." | a7R III | 16-35mm f4 | 16mm | f10 | 60 sec | ISO 50 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha

Views of DTLA captured by #AlphaCollective member @danorst 🔥 Today we are in the heart of LA celebrating another Be Alpha event with the LA photography community. Be sure to keep an eye out for our Instagram Story, as we will be sharing all the excitement directly from the event!

"I’ve been luck enough to fly around LA in a helicopter dozens of times to photograph the city. This flight happen to be scheduled on the same day as a Dodgers home game. During home games there is a TFR around the city meaning air traffic is banned from the area around downtown. To make the best of this TFR I decided to use the 100-400 GM lens and shoot the city from a distance. It was great experience shooting the city with a long lens, it made for vastly different compositions and an overall different mood. I really love the feeling of compression bringing the mountains right up in downtown. I’m hooked now on flying with a telephoto." | a7R III | 100-400mm GM | 179mm | f5.6 | 1/409 | ISO 160 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha
