In 2007, 13 rhinos were poached. In 2017, 1028 rhinos were poached. Rhino poaching has started to level off but additional investigative tools, stricter enforcement and investments in consumer and community awareness are needed now more than ever. #10YearChallenge #MoreWorkToDo #WorthMoreAlive this incredible #rhino photo by @gregdutoit illustrates the incredible majesty of #rhinos

#sharknews- Why do #sharks dive? A recent study of #tigersharks at ningaloo reef may yield some answers. 24 tiger sharks were outfitted with “shark fitbits” and the results seem to show that they mainly diving to look for prey. They’re thought to search the seafloor for prey as they dive down and scan for silhouettes as they swim back up to the surface. #themoreyouknow @jferrara_photo captures this beautiful #hammerheadshark reminding us that sharks are #worthmorealive

The #Galapagos islands banned fireworks on New Years Eve to protect #wildlife. While it is well known that animals can become disoriented and scared by displays, a 2011 study shows that fireworks can drive animals to lose track of their nests leaving their offspring to die. Furthermore the chemicals and potential to spark a fire can damage the local environment itself. This newly appointed ban is a truly wonderful way to ring in 2019! Photo credit @kristianschmidt_

As part of the launch of our #poachingstealsfromusall campaign with @danaigurira, she had the opportunity to meet our pal Mark. Mark, is an orphaned bull #elephant at Imire Lodge in Zimbabwe. He got a second chance thanks to local #conservation efforts and Danai is helping bring to light the importance of protecting local wildlife. Be sure to check out her page for other photos! @zimbabwetourismauthority#PoachingStealsFromUsAll#WhenTheBuyingStopsTheKillingCanToo#WorthMoreAlive

Exciting news! Today, we launched a new anti-poaching campaign alongside Black Panther and Walking Dead star and award-winning playwright, @danaigurira . In the past 40 years, the world has lost 95 percent of its #rhinos . The number of rhinos killed in South Africa has exceeded 1,000 every year since 2012. Please share and help us spread this important message #PoachingStealsFromUsAll
