Storms building up above the Zakouma headquarters. After a week with multiple rain showers the first shoots of green grass are peeking their heads above the ground, and the roads have turned into muddy slippery tracks that black cotton soil can do so well. I think we can safely say that the wet season has started!
The 4th of May was a historical day for Chad. It was the first time in decades that black rhino set foot on the soil of the country. @africanparksnetwork has been preparing #zakouma_national_park for the return of the rhinos by overhauling law enforcement, working with local communities and improving livelihoods, increasing tourism and providing an overall protection for this extremely rich ecosystem.
