767 Days and Counting | Photograph by Sam Gulino
“When I left of Antarctica, I assumed it would be a one-and-done trip — going once would be enough,” writes #YourShotPhotographer Sam Gulino. “Within a day of arriving, I realized I was wrong. Antarctica is a place that permanently changes you. I left with new understands of beauty, and more importantly, of myself and what I am capable of. Every day, I look at this photo that I took in December 2017 and count the days until I return to Antarctica in February 2020. [This photo] was taken in the Lemaire Channel aboard the National Geographic Explorer.”
“Beautiful capture Sam! I really like the use of space to show the vastness of the landscape. Including a bit of the ship bow and travelers adds perspective and a pop of color. I’m very happy to hear you had a great time, and that you’re planning to revisit this truly special place with us!” — @natgeoexpeditions Digital Media Specialist Lindsay Kuczera (@linkuczera).
