Setting yourself up for success...whatever your goals are fitness or otherwise, you need to put thought and time into reaching that goal. Just thinking about it won’t get you there! But setting a plan makes you much more likely to stick to it. Having the right tools around you helps you to stay on track. If you’re looking to become healthier or lose weight, fill your fridge and cupboard with whole nutritious foods so that you don’t reach for something overly processed and full of sugar when you get home from work and are too tired to go shopping. Little things like this can make a huge difference!

All ready to go but lacking motivation! People think it’s easy for personal trainers to stay fit. But we have the same challenges as everyone else. We’re not always motivated, we don’t have all the time in the world. Today, I drove to the gym for my session, realised I forgot something at home and came back, set everything up to workout from home, and have been sitting here ( or I should say foam rolling here) for 20 minutes trying to convince myself to workout! It’s my job to keep you motivated and sometimes that means I have less time and energy to focus on myself, but I just wanted to hop on here and say that I understand where you are coming from - I have the same struggles as you! The most important thing is that #consistency overrides all of the other excuses we create, because without it, you won’t see results!! I’ve had a few comments made to me about working out while on vacation. “My idea of vacation is NOT working out” or “I don’t know how you wake up early to do that” or “classic you to still workout on vacation”. These comments made me think... Why do people have such a hard time understanding this? If I DIDNT workout, would I have a better holiday? The answer? No! I workout because...it is my outlet, it makes me feel great, empowered, healthy, and I love constantly pushing myself physically, ESPECIALLY on holiday... when I have more time to experiment, time to experience things I don’t normally have time for, like this @tbclincolnpark boxing class with my favourite workout partner @paigersd. I haven’t seen my friend Paige in over a year, and the first thing we did together was workout, and had a great time together! Exercise shouldn’t be a punishment, it shouldn’t be something you dread. Find a way to enjoy moving your body, so that it doesn’t become a chore!
