🏆Julia and David Eversham are Fundraisers of the Year at @porawards !🏆 Huge congratulations to this wonderful couple, who over the last five years have not only dedicated a phenomenal amount of their time to helping us but also raised around £80,000! We are thrilled that this deserving pair won the award this afternoon 👏
Game on! We love playing board games and it was a battle of wits today when members of our Alexander Care Team took on the mighty Habiba. Thankfully, they are learning to be good losers as she wiped the floor with them…again! #daycare#lifeatourhospice#respite#boardgames
We feel very privileged to have helped play a part in celebrating this special boy’s 2nd birthday with his parents 💙 This amazing family also goes to incredible lengths to help raise money for our children’s hospice service so that we can help more families like them. Yesterday, Jude’s Dad and other members of #TeamJude were out in force at the spooky ‘Brutal Run’ in Alice Holt Forest
Posted @withrepost • @journeyjudes This week we celebrated little man turning two. It was such a mix of emotions. I felt like I should be happy and celebrating but I felt on the verge of tears all day. They told us that as a worse case scenario he would die before he was two so clearly we should be celebrating as he has defied the doctors but still I’m sad, he’s not like the 2 year old I’d expect. I so wanted to wake and he’s screaming with glee at all the gifts, walking to collect each one, opening them all by himself, telling off his brothers and sister for trying to help. It’s so very bittersweet. We dropped the kids off at school and took Jude to the hospice where we spent some lovely time in the hydro pool, he just looked so happy which made me feel better, we had a play in the sensory room but swimming is very tiring and he fell asleep in the ball pool. We then went for lunch and picked up the kids from school. We finished the day with some friends having a small tea party for Jude with cake and party food. I felt much happier by the end of the day, seeing how loved he is by so many people. The day after we got a wonderful gift from @alexanderdevinehospice some tickets for the whole family to go and see @circusstarrcic It was fun for all

Yesterday this magnificent group of people battled rather unpleasant weather to complete the @windsorhalfmarathon and collectively raised over £10,000 (with gift aid)! An incredible achievement and all 22 of them were so appreciative of everyone who came out to cheer them on as well as the 223 generous people who have generously donated so far. The money #TeamDevine has raised will play a big part in helping us to fund more nurses that we need. An Alexander’s nurse follows the child - delivering care at their home, here at the hospice, in school or at the hospital. They give parents total peace of mind that their child is being cared for by a highly skilled professional, whilst giving them a much-needed break to do things we all take for granted such as catching up on sleep, taking their other children to school or just simply time for themselves. It is not too late to show your support for our amazing runners and help us raise the money we need to fund more Alexander’s nurses. Donate here https://www.justgiving.com/companyteams/alexanderdevinewindsorhalf
The countdown is on and in just 3 days time #TeamDevine will be on the start line for this year’s @windsorhalfmarathon 🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♀️ It looks like they may well be battling the weather 🌧 as well as the rather undulating course! A huge thank you to all the generous people that have sponsored the team and also those who will be braving the elements to support them on the day.
It is not too late if you would like to give the team a motivational boost, you can sponsor them here https://www.justgiving.com/companyteams/alexanderdevinewindsorhalf Go #TeamDevine 💪

Our mighty and inspiring ‘Princess Sophia’ proudly rang her bell yesterday to mark the end of her cancer treatment. Such a momentous day for this special young warrior and her family- many tears of joy were shed at Alexander Devine HQ!
Four year old Sophia has spent over half her life fighting leukaemia and what a privilege it has been for us to help and support her and her family through the toughest of times, battling this life-threatening condition. As a children’s hospice service, it is sadly not often that we get to celebrate wonderful news like this. Without doubt this tough cookie has touched all our hearts, especially Sarah from our Care team, or as her family refer to her - “Sophia’s bestie for life”. Sarah was honoured to have been invited to join them all for the long-awaited celebrations at Wexham Park Hopsital yesterday.
From all of us at Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, we are so proud of you Sophia. Go follow your dreams!
Our shiny new website has launched! 🚀🙌 See it here www.alexanderdevine.org To the fabulous team at @weareopenhealth one massive thank you from us all for your time and hardwork in creating this site. We are so grateful for everything you have done and your generous ongoing support. We would also like to say a big thank you to Rob Grigor, who designed and managed our original website and has put up with us for these past 10 years! Your dedication to our charity (and patience with us!) has meant so much. Some special little people have been working on some thank you cards to show our appreciation!
You are never too old to have fun at the Thames Valley Adventure Playground! @tvap_charity Our Community Fundraiser, Julia Philipson, visited the fabulous playground with @thameshospice for a cheque presentation from Reading Male Voice Choir and Rotary Club of Maidenhead Thames. We were thrilled to be presented with a fantastic £1,000 that they had raised for us from their concert back in June.
By donating to our hospice service you can help fund activities and care that will improve the lives of local children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, including music therapy, specialist play and splash sessions in our hydrotherapy pool. To make a one-off donation simply text DEVINE followed by how much you would like to give to 70085. Eg DEVINE 10 to donate £10, which could buy a day of oxygen for children with respiratory disease. You can donate any whole amount between £1 and £20. Thank you 🙏 #internationaldayofcharity#childrenshospice#makeadifference#donate#thankyou
Look who we found in our sensory room this afternoon...Thanks for visiting us @babsmichel Tune into ‘Michelle on the Move’ tonight on BBC Radio Berkshire and hear her interview with Claire Coldicott, our Director of Fundraising and Communications, as well as Sarah Maskell, one of our fabulous carers
We can't thank The Avenue School in Reading enough for loaning us their minibus over the school holidays.
Our summer has been jam-packed full of fun for the children and sibling groups and it has made a huge difference to the range of activities and outings we have been able to offer. It has also meant a lot to the families we support, especially as we have been able to drive and collect children that would otherwise not have been able to come to the hospice. #communitysupport#childrenshospice#thankyou
