This stopped me in my tracks. As the mommy of boys I’m always confronted with this silly standard we put on boys to be “tough” - to be “hard” - to not cry- to not express their true feelings and emotions. It’s devastating! We encourage girls to be creative - to be colorful - to be expressive. But with boys we give them these rules about how being a man means being emotionless. I teach my boys to honor their feelings - to use their words - to be able to actually express how they feel. It might sound crazy but I believe this is a way to change the world too.
I pray we can “Viva La Vida” and stop perpetuating these traps! Live your life!!!!! Tell me your thoughts and experiences - either as a man, a mother to a son, a sister to a brother, or a father to a son.
It’s soooo deep!!! big love to artist @villanaart for stirring this in me today.
My beautiful love,
I love everything about you! I love everything about the love you give to all of our beautiful babies. Your commitment, your passion, and the way you both grow and love deeper and deeper every day, every week, every month, every year! I love how silly you are, how crazy you are, how special you are and how much all of us (especially our kids) get to learn for your endlessness and ceiling-less-ness ;-). You are totally one of one and we cherish you! Happy Father’s Day everyday!! @therealswizzz and to all the special fathers in the world !
Just finished this sick women’s writing camp!! I love supporting these amazing female writers, producers, engineers and creative minds! And there are so many more incredible ones!! Can you believe of almost three thousand pop songwriters credited last year, only 12% were female. Only 3% of engineers are female. One of them is @anntasticlv. Only 2% of producers are female. One of them is me. Crazy! Our world is 50/50. Isn’t it time for our industry to reflect that? #sheisthemusic
