Backbends. Probably my favourite posture simply because of the way they make me feel afterwards
If you think about your day, we all ‘forward bend’ and compress the front of our body ALOT...sitting at work/school, in the car, while you eat, and even while you chill on the couch watching TV
Backbends counteract all of this.
They improve your posture, releases neck strain, allows your spine to decompress, helps to open your lungs and breath deeper, massages your kidneys to stimulate the flush of toxins, lengthen your hip flexors (which releases lower back pain) and also stimulates the nervous system which gives you an energy boost!

Sometimes not knowing is the greatest gift.
It’s where excitement hides.
If I knew exactly where I would be and what I would be doing everyday for the next 10 years...I would have no space to dream, to wonder, or to be surprised.
Things might not go the way I expect, and usually those moments are the ones that have taught me the biggest lessons. Patience, bravery, strength, grit.
Be open to the unknown.
Take something away from every moment.
Because at the end of the day, you are not owed anything. You can not expect or predict what should, would, or did happen.
All that is guaranteed to you is your ability to experience this moment, and your willingness to mould to the next.
Don’t be stuck in expectations. Be free to wonder what happens next.
It’s Sunday night here in Aus which means I’ve added a new yoga class to my app!

How do I get flexible?!
I get this question SO often, and many people think that being flexible is just not possible for them BUT, the truth is, anyone can get flexible, no matter what stage you might be at now.
Flexibility is all about exposing your body to extended range of movement, consistently...and that’s the key word.
Spending time on stretching or yoga everyday will improve your flexibility tremendously. Even just 15min daily will help you more than just 1 or 2 long stretching sessions a week.
One of the best ways I like to mix my stretching/yoga into my day is to do it first thing in the morning, or just before bed at night. Morning stretching helps your body release feel good hormones and helps you start a positive flow of energy for your day Night time stretching releases tension and stress that you might have built up over the day and prepares your body for rest and healing. I also stretch in front of the tv at night if I haven’t had the chance to fit it in during the day! )
Looking after your mobility is also the number one way to avoid chronic pain (lower back pain anyone?!?) and injury (like rotator cuff issues & knee problems)
